During Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing, he’s been attacked and grilled by leftists, but he’s stood firm in his convictions. He even put the California anti-gun Senator Dianne Feinstein firmly in her place, shutting her up with only four words after she pushed him, insisting on hearing his opinion on a decision from an older case.
Gorsuch was not the choice that liberals had hoped for when Antonin Scalia died last February. They had assumed that Hillary Clinton would succeed their savior Barack Obama and that they could put a liberal lunatic on the Supreme Court. Luckily, none of that happened, and President Donald Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch. Now, even those skeptical of Gorsuch should like his response when challenged about the Supreme Court decision, D.C. vs. Heller.
Dianne Feinstein was recently making headlines for saying that Trump would resign, but just in case he doesn’t, she’s got a team of people actively looking to impeach him. Most recently, the California senator, who actively seeks to disarm the American people, wanted to know only one thing from Gorsuch. Feinstein is one of the most anti-gun human beings on the planet, and she makes it no secret that she would welcome an all out ban on firearms, so her line of questioning didn’t come as a surprise — but Gorsuch’s response certainly did.
Deciding to go after Gorsuch during his confirmation hearing to try to make his stance on guns an issue, Feinstein asked about the Supreme Court’s decision in the landmark case D.C. vs. Heller, in which the rights of an American to possess a gun were upheld. This ruling was the first of its kind, affirming the Second Amendment and stating implicitly that an American civilian has the right to own a gun. Of course, liberals don’t like this decision because their goal is strip rights from as many people as possible. So, Feinstein asked Gorsuch his opinion on the D.C. vs. Heller case.
However, the California liberal was not expecting a simple four-word response from the Supreme Court Justice nominee. Gorsuch plainly said that D.C. vs. Heller is the “law of the land,” prompting Feinstein to press Gorsuch further, and in a rather smooth move, he simply explained to the anti-gun liberal, “Whatever’s in Heller, that’s the law. It’s not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing, respectfully, it’s about the law. My job is to apply and enforce the law.”
Gorsuch attempted to avoid the specifics of certain decisions, likely because he wasn’t on the Supreme Court when those decisions were being made, but he nonetheless continued to irritate liberals by stating his obligation to the supremacy of the law, which includes the D.C. vs. Heller decision.
Gorsuch will be the successor to the great Antonin Scalia, who abruptly died last February and left an open seat on the Supreme Court. Speculations surrounding his death still abound, especially now that Gorsuch’s hearing is underway, with some believing that Hillary Clinton had Scalia murdered so that she could fill his seat with a communist after she was supposed to win the rigged election last November. So, having a judge that’s putting the law before politics likely isn’t bringing much comfort to the corrupt Democrats who are in office.
Gorsuch held his own against the liberal left when pressed on guns, but this doesn’t mean gun rights activists can take a break. There are still many groups and government officials working steadfastly to permanently remove the rights to keep and bear arms. Although Gorsuch’s comments put Feinstein firmly in her place, gun owners still have an uphill battle in states like California and New York. Those Americans are being denied essential gun rights based simply on location and being a conservative minority in a liberal stronghold.
All gun owners should continue to stand their ground against all those who seek to make them slaves by putting ink on paper and telling them to disarm. However, it does bring some comfort, knowing we are about to have a Supreme Court Justice who is on our side.
