VIDEO: Armed Thug Plays ‘Chicken’ With LAPD Chopper, Wins Stupid Prize

A Los Angeles woman fled from her home through a window after being awakened by the sound of an intruder inside. As she called for help, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department immediately responded, only to find themselves under fire from the armed suspect. Now, this thug has learned the hard way that when you play a stupid game of “chicken” with LAPD’S SWAT helicopter, you get a stupid prize.

According to Mercury News, police were called to the scene of the home invasion in Sunland-Tujunga just outside of Los Angeles on Monday, May 9, 2017, at approximately 9 a.m. When officers arrived at the victim’s residence, they attempted to talk to the armed suspect who has now been identified as 29-year-old Anthony Soderberg. After a nearly 6 hour standoff with police, Soderberg fled the home as it filled with tear gas and shot at the officers with a firearm he had taken from the home. The decision was made to send in the LAPD’s SWAT helicopter to take away the shooter’s advantage, and that is when things got ugly for him.

As Soderberg opened fire on the officers on the ground and those in the helicopter, they returned the favor with deadly force. For the first time in its history, LAPD SWAT officers shot at a suspect from their chopper, and the result was brutally precise. Soderberg was hit numerous times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The expert marksman in that SWAT Chopper made quick work of the home invading thug turned wannabe cop killer, proving once again that crime doesn’t pay.

Luckily, a nearby neighbor was filming the shootout on his smartphone and uploaded it to the web so that we could all enjoy watching LAPD put the smackdown on this violent thug. Although the video does not depict the suspect being shot, the sound alone of the SWAT officer’s rounds ringing out of the chopper are nothing less than mindblowing.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said that officers first tried to negotiate with the suspect to get him to surrender peacefully, but he refused. “The suspect definitely had high ground at all of the ground officers, was firing indiscriminately at them and actually fired at the helicopter, we believe,” Beck said, according to Breitbart.

Soderberg either had a death wish or he was just really that stupid. Perhaps he didn’t think the SWAT officer perched on the side of the chopper would really light him up. He was dead wrong. Soderberg, like many other thugs, found out that his self-entitled violent thug lifestyle ends in tragedy.

It almost seems unbelievable, but week after week, our country sees hundreds of home invasion robberies where the residents are often tied up, beaten, sexually assaulted, and murdered. Shockingly, a small fraction of those reports include homeowners who turned the tables on their assailants with a firearm. I think there’s a valuable lesson here. This homeowner was lucky to have escaped with her life and thank God for the brave officers of the LAPD who stepped up to handle business. All too often, the bad guys get away and are still at large, but this time, the good guys won. Job well-done LAPD.
