Recently, several members of a cheerleading squad in Atlanta “took a knee” while the national anthem was played during a hometown football game. However, their blatant show of disrespect was short-lived. Their no-nonsense coach, who was fed-up with these demonstrations which have been sweeping the nation, decided to take something of theirs to teach them a hard lesson.
Across the country, athletes have been kneeling during the national anthem in solidarity with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who first began the practice during football season in 2016 to protest police brutality and racial injustice. Of course, the hypocrisy could not be more glaring.
Kaepernick and his ilk make more money in one year than most white people make in their entire lifetimes, so he should be the last person lecturing us on equality. Still, there are those who haven’t thought the matter through any more than Kaepernick has, and they now choose to kneel during the anthem, as well.

Unfortunately for these ungrateful little crybabies, though, the school was having none of it. The protesting cheerleaders have been removed from the field going forward, so they no longer have the option of making the football field their stage for a misguided social justice demonstration.
One of the latest displays of defiance was at a Kennesaw State University football game where five of the cheerleaders took a knee during the national anthem at their game against North Greenville University on Sept. 30.

At their next game on Oct. 7, against Texas Southern, the cheerleaders were not on the field until after the national anthem.

Good for the school! If these cheerleaders want to protest, they’re going to have to do it somewhere else, because their platform was just taken away. They’ve effectively been put in timeout like the toddlers they are.
“The decision…. is part of a number of changes that have been made by a new Athletics administration each game as we continue to refine and enhance the gameday atmosphere for our fans,” said a spokesperson for Kennesaw State University. “Some of those other changes have included painting the KS logo at midfield for the first time, the addition of metal detectors at gates to expedite fan entry, and music/PA system changes to have more loud speakers by the student section.”
Well, I’m sure the new logo and loudspeakers are a nice addition, but certainly, the best change the school implemented was taking away these cheerleaders’ chance to act like a bunch of spoiled brats. Fans don’t come to games to see a social justice presentation, they come to watch football. It’s nice to see somebody treating these disrespectful little girls like the toddlers they are. What do you do when a toddler throws a tantrum? You put them in time out.
