A Milwaukee thief recently made the fatal mistake of trying to earn a quick buck by taking it from others. Too bad for him, it would be his last attempt at robbery as it was about to turn into his final deadly mistake. To the thief’s surprise — and ultimately, his demise — there were multiple concealed carry holders in the shop he had chosen to rob, and they weren’t afraid to shoot.
The incident took place at the “Level Up Barber Shop and Auto Body Repair” at about 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The co-owner of the store, who is identified only as Ty, gave his recollection of events, saying, “He asked some questions about how much a haircut costs, then went into the bathroom to put his mask on and get his gun ready or whatever.”
The thief emerged from the bathroom with gun in hand and started searching customers when one of them pulled a gun and shot the robber dead. Ty said that the customer did what was necessary in order to protect himself and the fellow patrons of the shop.
“The robber took his eye off the guy that he originally robbed first. I guess he didn’t check him good enough because he had a gun on him,” Ty said, according to TMJ4. “One of the customers acted in self-defense. He had his (concealed-carry permit), a registered firearm, and unfortunately killed the robber.”
According to WISN, Ty had never seen the man before and wondered why he picked the barber shop as a place to rob in the first place. He then disclosed that even he has a concealed carry license and is always looking over his shoulder on account of the high crime rate in the area. “The crime rate is so high. It’s like nobody wants to work for an honest living anymore,” he concluded.
The concealed carrier was taken in by Milwaukee police and interviewed. The next step is for the case to be handed over to the Milwaukee County District Attorney who will determine what charges, if any, will be pursued.
No one ever said that you had to be smart to be a criminal, but you’d think they’d at least begin to wise-up. According to Bearing Arms, “There are now more than 11 million licensed concealed carriers in the United States.” One would think that this fact alone would be more than enough to discourage the frequent robberies around the US. Unfortunately, some still need to learn the hard way that Americans have the right to protect themselves and their property and they will use the Second Amendment as it’s intended to do so.
With stories such as these and the number of concealed carry holders on the rise, maybe criminals should start to catch on before they meet a similar fate to this wanna-be felon. What do you think of this – did this guy get exactly what he deserved? Let us know in the comments.
