“Kleptomaniac” UCLA Basketball Player Proves Trump Right With Stupid Excuse For Stealing

The “Kleptomaniac” UCLA basketball player LiAngelo Ball and his loudmouth father are back in the spotlight with a big announcement and a stupid excuse that proved President Donald Trump right when he said that he should have left him in jail. Some people have no class.

According to The New York Post, LiAngelo Ball and his father LaVar Ball recently gave an interview to NBC’s “Today” show during which they announced that LiAngelo would no longer be part of UCLA’s program and that he would be preparing to join the NBA. There’s a saying that “you can’t fix stupid,” and LiAngelo proved exactly that when he explained why he decided to steal shoes from a Chinese store which led to his arrest. His excuse proves that Trump should have left him in jail.

In his first lengthy interview since being freed by President Donald Trump from a Chinese jail, LiAngelo Ball is speaking out, not to take responsibility for what he did but to throw his UCLA teammates under the bus. His excuse is that he was just stealing because his friends were doing it, leaving many of us to wish that his friends had jumped off a cliff.

Seriously? You’re a grown man and you decided to steal something that didn’t belong to you because your buddies did it first? There a tremendous failure of conscience here and not to mention a horrible parenting job.

I’m certain that LiAngelo has plenty of friends who have chosen to be law-abiding good people. Why didn’t he decide to follow their example if he’s nothing more than a mindless copycat as he appeared to claim during his interview? The truth is that his father raised a degenerate who would have stolen merchandise even if he was alone.

LiAngelo and his father’s real purpose for going on the “Today” show was to announce that he would be leaving college basketball and preparing to go into the NBA. Undoubtedly, the decision was made after UCLA enforced an indefinite suspension on LiAngelo following his shoplifting arrest in China last month with teammates Jalen Hill and Cody Riley.

The jailed basketball players were allowed to return to the United States after President Donald Trump intervened on their behalf and spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping about their release. During Tuesday’s interview, LiAngelo admitted to stealing but made sure to mention that he only followed his friends’ example.

“We all went out one night, went to the malls, went to the Louis Vuitton store and, uh, people started taking stuff, and then, you know, me just not thinking and being with them, I took something too,” LiAngelo said.

LiAngelo Ball said that he and his teammates left the store after stealing merchandise and assumed they would “just get away” without any consequences. The fact that this guy is getting the opportunity to make stupid excuses on national television just because he is likely headed for the NBA is ridiculous.

Although it’s very unlikely they will admit it, the Ball family is an embarrassment to our country. The least LiAngelo could do is own his behavior instead of blaming it on his teammates.

The truth of the matter is that our professional sports teams in the U.S. are full of guys just like LiAngelo who despise authority and have no class. The national anthem protesting thugs in the NFL is proof of that. I hope that if LiAngelo does make it to the NBA that he remembers it wasn’t basketball that made him famous, it was shoplifting in China and being released because of President Donald Trump.
