A man from Oklahoma was minding his own business when he suddenly heard someone yelling outside his home. As anyone would do, he went to the door to check out what the commotion was all about and immediately saw his disgruntled, knife-wielding neighbor, but things would only get worse. In fact, as soon as the cops arrived, they were left sick to see what the crazed man had strapped to his chest.
Troy Bagley has been having an ongoing disagreement with his neighbor Donald Gaither. Although he didn’t think the matter was too serious, Gaither apparently felt much differently.
In fact, one night after Gaither drank a little too much, he decided to grab a few knives and head on over to Bagley’s home and show him just how he felt. Fed-up with his neighbor’s behavior, Bagley immediately called the police when he saw the knives and what was strapped to Gaither’s chest.
The entire dispute began when Gaither reportedly “thought Bagley had gotten him kicked out of a mobile home park in Pontotoc County,” according to Fox News. Although it’s unclear whether he did or not, there’s no reason for his behavior that followed. In fact, if his antics are any indication, he deserved to be thrown out of any place where civilized people reside.
According to KFOR, Gaither boldly went to Bagley’s home, armed with knives, screaming “come out and get some,” with pornographic magazines taped to his chest as armor, obviously looking for a fight. Luckily, Bagley knew that if he went outside to confront the crazed man, someone would have been hurt or possibly killed. Instead of risking his life, he decided to call the police.
When cops arrived, Bagley’s statement was confirmed as Gaither was seen holding a knife in each hand, with two others secured to his waist. He also had a large weight attached to a lanyard. He was wearing homemade “armor,” comprised of adult magazines taped to his body, as well.
“He appeared to be intoxicated somewhat, he did comply with the officer when he ordered him to the ground — at gunpoint — and he was holding knives in both hands whenever the deputy confronted him,” Sheriff John Christian said.
Of course, Gaither was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of an offensive weapon. When he was asked by authorities why he was at his neighbor’s home, he reportedly said that he was in “survival mode” and had been in prison before and knew what to do to protect himself. Apparently, that included porno magazine armor and knives.
Although he had never been to prison, Gaither had been in jail in the past. In fact, he had several previous charges, including aggravated assault and battery, robbery, possession of stolen property, and extortion.
It is currently unclear whether Bagley was actually responsible for Gaither’s removal from a mobile home park, or even whether Gaither was truly kicked out, but considering the circumstances, it seems more likely that if he was, he probably has himself to blame.
Users on social media couldn’t believe what they were reading. “We live in a sick world,” one person wrote. Another person jokingly added, “You just can’t make this stuff up!!!!!” Yet another user comically suggested, “I think he should change his magazine subscription to National Geographic — they’re thicker.”
We live in a society where people feel like they can say and do whatever they want without repercussions. However, the truth is, if something bad happens to you, it’s often discovered that it’s no one’s fault other than your own. Actions have consequences, and just like parents tell their children, if you don’t want to face the music, then don’t do anything that’s going to get you in trouble. If you choose to do something wrong anyway, don’t blame someone else when you get busted. It’s honestly as simple as that.
