Media Blamed Trump When Mosque Set Ablaze, But Look Who Just Pleaded Guilty

Throughout Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and following his Election Day victory, the liberal left and their lapdog media have been decrying hate crimes at the hands of Trump supporters, placing the blame on our now-President-elect. Such was the case when a mosque went up in flames. After the mainstream media ran with a narrative that faulted Trump for the crime, you have to see who just pleaded guilty.

It’s been almost a year since a Houston mosque was torched on Christmas Day in 2015, and while many may have long forgotten the crime, the dangerous narrative that was pushed by the media still lingers. As is usually the case with the mainstream media, before the facts were known, many outlets immediately exploited the tragedy to push their agenda.

Breitbart reports that, as the mosque went up in smoke, the DC Media’s hoped-for anti-GOP narrative placed the blame on Donald Trump, but a week later, their story line fell apart. Unfortunately, the damage was already done — and we’re not talking about the mosque.

After anger ensued and anti-Trump sentiments grew, thanks to the media’s false narrative, a suspect was charged with the arson of the Savoy Masjid Mosque in Houston a week later, but by then, no one was paying attention anymore, and the truth certainly wasn’t something the media wanted to be known, after their rhetoric blew up in their face. As Breitbart predicted, the DC media lost interest in the story once they saw who was charged with the crime.

It was discovered that 38-year-old Gary Nathaniel Moore had started the fire, and not only was he a very devout follower of Islam, the Muslim had torched his own mosque, which he attended every day up to five times a day for five years. Recently appearing in a Harris County (Houston) district court, Moore pleaded guilty to felony arson, admitting he started the fire with the intent to destroy and damage a place of worship.

Had it not been for surveillance videos from a close-by business and another location, which showed “a bald-headed dark skinned male walk quickly away from the mosque” around the time the fire was started, both Moore and the media could have gotten away with their crimes and lies.

After Moore was positively identified, using the surveillance footage 3 days after the fire, a search warrant was executed. Evidence found at his residence further linked Moore to the arson. However, although Moore was facing up to 99 years in prison or life, Judge Jan Krocker of the 184th District Court in Harris County, Texas only sentenced him to four years in prison, according to court documents obtained by Breitbart.

Although the media perpetuated fake hate, their crime is not punishable, but that doesn’t make it any less destructive. Of course, they won’t right their wrongs by making sure the story gets the same coverage they gave it when they could use it to manipulate the public and push their leftist, anti-Trump agenda. It now falls on us to make others aware that what they have seen in the mainstream news is untrue. As liberals denounce “fake news,” it turns out their mainstream media is once again the biggest culprit.
