On Tuesday, President Trump met with local families and small business owners at the White House, where he presented them with his new tax plan. The new tax bill, which is rapidly moving its way through Congress, is designed to put more money in the pockets of middle-class Americans and simplify their tax preparation burden each year.

One of the first business owners to speak at the meeting was veteran Brian Steorts. Steorts is the owner of Flags of Valor, a manufacturing company based in Virginia which commits to hiring and assisting veterans in the workforce. He thanked President Trump for putting more funds back in the hands of the American people so that they can continue to grow the economy and bring purpose to people’s lives.

Brian Steorts is no ordinary individual or entrepreneur. He began his service in the U.S. in the Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He had briefly left active duty to attend the University of Alabama, when he witnessed the attacks of 9/11 and felt a calling to return to active service.

After joining the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and eight consecutive combat deployments to the Middle East, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa, Steorts found himself rehabbing a service-related injury. He said that he needed a new way to focus his mind while he rebuilt his body. [Source: Entrepeneur]

As he addressed Trump on Tuesday, Steorts reached over and grabbed something incredible that he had handmade at his factory specifically for the president. He pulled out a beautiful hardwood American flag designed to hang on a wall as a patriotic piece of art.

Check it out:

Steorts said that when he launched his company two years ago, he could only find wooden American flags made in China, so he set out to change that.

Air Force veteran and President of Flags of Valor Brian Steorts said he got the idea for the company after being injured while deployed. He joined the FOX Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo to share his story.

“I went to a rehabilitation program and I didn’t wear my uniform anymore, I’m used to having my flag on my shoulder and so it kind of upset me,” Steorts said. “There was a flag that I found that was actually a beautiful flag, but it wasn’t made in the United States, and so for therapeutic reasons I started making my own and I wanted to make it all with materials made in America.” [Source: Fox Business]

Trump was in awe of the craftsmanship and generosity of this hard-working American who took time out of his life to make something especially for him. You could tell from the look on the president’s face that he was deeply moved by Brian Steorts’ incredible gesture.

It has been many years since we had a Commander-in-Chief who was so beloved by members of the military and veterans. Steorts’ heartfelt gift is a testament to just how respected President Trump is by our country’s brave soldiers, and it’s something more Americans need to see. Our president isn’t hated as the mainstream media would have us believe. He’s respected, and rightfully so.
