Meryl Streep is making waves as well as headlines after the iconic actress used her platform at the Golden Globes to criticize President-elect Donald Trump and all those who voted for him. However, maybe she has forgotten who she gave a standing ovation to in 2003 — and it’s time she and her fans get a much-needed reminder.
Apparently, Meryl Streep has a deep regard for the disabled, but couldn’t care less about underage victims of sexual assault. What a hypocrite!
“[T]he person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter,” she remarked while accepting the Cecil B. de Mille Lifetime Achievement Award Sunday night. “It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head, because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.”

Not only was her comment off-base since Donald Trump never mocked a disabled reporter but simply pointed out the bias of his work, her remarks lack all credibility when you consider the people Streep apparently considers applause-worthy.
Footage from 2003 has resurfaced, showing Streep giving convicted child rapist Roman Polanski a standing ovation when he won the Academy Award for Best Director for The Pianist. After the introduction of the award and Polanski being announced the winner, Streep and many other A-listers showed their true colors seen at the 1:10 mark in the clip below:
Of course, Polanski wasn’t in attendance to accept the award himself, because he notoriously fled the United States in 1978 to avoid prosecution for the rape of a 13-year-old girl, like the coward he is. The famed director finally admitted his guilt in 2011 but has continued to evade the consequences of his horrendous crime.

If Meryl Streep wants to use her platform to do some good, that’s fine. However, she needs to get her facts straight first. Kellyanne Conway pointed this out on Fox & Friends when she said, “My initial reaction is I’m glad Meryl Streep has such a passion for the disabled, because I didn’t hear her weigh in and I didn’t hear even her use her platform last night to give a shoutout to the mentally challenged boy who last week was tortured live on Facebook.”
There’s a reason conservatives hate the Hollywood elite. This is a perfect example. I don’t know about you, but there’s no way you could convince me to sit through a Meryl Streep movie at this point. She has officially dug herself a hole that there’s no chance of climbing out of.
