A mother decided to take several photos of her two-year-old daughter to have some cute memories to look back on. However, after snapping one incredible shot, the mother was left horrified by what was spotted lurking behind the toddler, and it will surely send shivers down your spine.
Bianca Dickinson, a mother from Australia, was proud of the incredible picture she had captured of her 2-year-old daughter Molly. Unfortunately, the photo unknowingly captured what was caught lurking behind the young girl the entire time.
During Bianca’s photo shoot with Molly, she noticed something move near her daughter’s leg. However, the mother excused the occurrence as a mere piece of a debris moving from the wind. However, after she took a few more photos, her eyes adjusted, and she realized that it wasn’t a piece of wood at all. It was something far more dangerous – an Eastern brown snake, terrifyingly close to her daughter.
Although the mother instinctively wanted to snatch her daughter from harm’s way, she knew any quick movements would startle the snake and put her daughter at greater risk. “I think because I stayed still, she then stayed still and it literally just kept slithering past,” Bianca said, according to Daily Mail.
As soon as they were able to escape the dangerous situation, Bianca immediately checked her camera roll to see if she had unknowingly captured the snake. To her surprise, the over six-foot long venomous snake was seen in a few of the incredible shots, slithering over a pole, mere inches away from her daughter’s leg.
“The photo still makes me have heart failure,” Bianca said. “I didn’t sleep last night, and I have just eaten for the first time since it happened.”
Luckily, Molly was completely oblivious to the entire ordeal and has no clue that her life was threatened during the photo shoot. Considering that the Eastern brown is the second most venomous snake in the world, it’s safe to say that the young girl is lucky to be alive.
Although we all like to feel safe wherever we are, the truth of the matter is, we’re not. Unfortunately, we cannot control what’s lurking in the shadows. However, what we can do is educate ourselves to be prepared for many different situations to help increase our chances of survival – regardless as to what these hidden threats could be.
I think it’s safe to say that this particular mother’s knowledge of venomous snakes helped save her daughter’s life. Some people would have wanted to remove the child from the danger as fast as possible, without even considering that their behavior would frighten the threat and ultimately increase the chance of a deadly snake bite. When faced with an unexpected danger, the lesson to be learned is to simply avoid panicking – it will almost always put you and your loved one at greater risk of harm.
