After learning that a 16-year-old had starved to death, weighing just 85 pounds at the time of her passing, Iowa police were horrified to learn that her mother was to blame. Unfortunately for the woman responsible, things just took a nasty turn as she got exactly what she deserves.
Mad World News previously reported on Natalie Finn, who died on October 24 of last year. After the teen’s passing, it wasn’t long before attention was shifted to her mother, Nicole Finn, as officials saw the state that the girl was in at the time of her death.
Weighing just 85 pounds, reports indicate that the girl was found in a disposable diaper and had been that way for “quite some time” as she was too weak to get up and change. Although first responders rushed her to the hospital, she was later pronounced dead, and it was soon learned that she had suffered a devastating heart attack because of her condition.
Sadly, that wasn’t the worst part as police would find after they were eventually able to secure a search warrant. What they discovered was downright horrifying.
According to reports, Natalie lived with her adoptive parents as well as a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy who were both also found starving. However, the worst part came when the kids told police that their abusive mother had been holding them against their will in the home that stunk of feces and urine from both animals and people.
Although the kids were initially able to escape the horrors of the home from time to time, Joseph Finn, Nicole’s now-ex-husband, eventually boarded up the windows so they couldn’t get out. Along with that, Nicole reportedly withheld food from the kids to punish and torture them.
Even worse yet was the fact that Child Protective Services (CPS) had been involved with the family. Unfortunately, because they have to announce their visits, CPS workers reported back that there was “ample” food in the house at the time and didn’t see a need to check back.
Of course, once officials had learned the real reason Natalie was dead, they immediately arrested Nicole and Joseph Finn for murder. Although things were already looking pretty bad for them, things just got a whole lot worse.
According to Pix11, the deranged mother just got exactly what she deserves as the courts most recently found her guilty of first-degree murder. As Find Law reports, “First-degree murder is a class A felony punishable by life in prison.”
In the end, this means that Nicole will likely spend the rest of her life in prison for what she did – and rightfully so. After all, if you take the life of someone else, then yours too should be taken away.
However, the only difference here is the fact that this disgusting excuse for a mother gets to live for the rest of her natural life. In my opinion, it’s cases like this that make a strong argument for the death penalty. If you kill someone, you should be killed right back – period.
This girl’s life was cut short at 16 as she starved to death, but Nicole gets to live the rest of her life with 3 meals a day provided for her? How is that fair? Then, on top of that, there’s the argument of taxpayer burden. If this woman has been deemed unfit to live a free life, then why does that make it our problem? She killed someone. She should get the same fate. The effects of Nicole’s decisions shouldn’t be put on us because she made a horrific choice. She made her bed, she should be forced to lie in it.
