Obama Orders 2 Executive Actions Against Guns

Days after vowing to a group of mayors to take more executive action on gun control measures, President Obama has unfortunately delivered on his promise for once.  Common sense gun “safety” measures are just a poor disguise for gun control and violations to the 2nd Amendment.

According to the Washington Times, President Obama has ordered two new executive orders against guns.

1) Banning the re-importation of military surplus firearms to private entities

This essentially discontinues a supply of quality, inexpensive firearms to the American people. For example, there are a lot of  M1 Garand and M1 Carbine rifles in good condition just sitting in legal limbo, that are left over from the Korean War.

This new executive order will guarantee that the American people will never see these weapons again. See photo below of an M1 Garand.

2) Changing the way NFA items (silencers, short barreled rifles, machine guns) are registered to trusts and corporations, making the process stricter.
“ATF reports that last year alone, it received more than 39,000 requests for transfers of these restricted firearms to trusts or corporations,” the White House said.

Presently, many Americans register NFA items to trusts instead of themselves.

This has a few benefits. For starters, if your local law enforcement won’t sign off on an individual tax stamp application, then you can take the trust route.

Trusts can offer some degree of estate planning when properly executed, insuring that your guns are legally transferred to your heirs.

It is anticipated that the person submitting an application in the name of a trust will have to submit more personal information, such as photos and finger print cards at the very minimum.
