California police officers were more than horrified to hear that a 20-year-old punk had drugged and raped his little sister. As one would imagine, he was quickly arrested, but his sentence is much lighter than you would expect – and the sick excuse the judge gave even had the District Attorney shaking his head.
It all started when the 16-year-old girl’s brother, Nolan Bruder, asked her to have sex with him. According to Young Conservatives, when Nolan didn’t get his way, the frustrated man decided to take matters into his own hands and get what he wanted by drugging his little sister.
Using high potency marijuana known as “dabs,” Nolan forced his sister to take hit after hit, resulting in her becoming extremely high. Before long, she didn’t even recognize her older brother anymore, prompting him to take what she wouldn’t voluntarily give him.
Eventually, Nolan was in jail for rape – but things have most recently taken an even more disturbing turn. As it turns out, the judge only gave the pervert a paltry sentence with very little time behind bars for what he had done.

Of course, the extremely lenient sentence has gotten quite a bit of attention. Sadly, the sick reasoning the judge gave for it has only made things worse as he seemingly excused Nolan and his premeditated assault.
After sentencing Bruder, Judge Follett said that he believed “the stigma” of Bruder’s conviction along with “mandatory sex offender registration” would prevent him and others in the community from reoffending. [Source: Blue Lives Matter]
In an even sicker turn of events, the judge then teetered on the brink of victim blaming. Suggesting that Nolan wasn’t completely at fault, Follett made sure to note that the girl undressed herself and was conscious at the time of the assault.
It doesn’t take a genius to understand why the public isn’t exactly enthusiastic about the judge’s ruling. In fact, even Del Norte District Attorney Dale P. Trigg said that this wasn’t the way things should have ended.
“I could not disagree more,” Trigg said. “The message that this sends to our community is that sexual predators who get their juvenile siblings stoned enough can have sex with them without any meaningful consequence. That is not the message I want to send to our community.”
As one would imagine, many have already begun to issue demands for Follett to be fired from his position – and for good reason. Not only did this man let a rapist, who admitted his guilt, walk away with a slap on the wrist but then he actually sought to blame the victim as well.
Nolan needs to be locked away for years, but instead, he’ll be released in just a short time. Of course, what this judge has done is almost worse seeing how he’s essentially backing a rapist. Not only should he be terminated, he should also serve the time that Nolan should have spent behind bars.
