Each time a deranged liberal murders innocent Americans, smug leftists immediately politicize the tragedy to push for gun control. However, as soon as they called for a resolution to stop mass shootings from occurring once again, a Florida sheriff answered their demand with 5 simple words that sent them into a political meltdown.
In the wake of the Texas church shooting, the left couldn’t even wait for the bodies to be identified before shrieking for law-abiding gun owners to relinquish their firearms. Despite the fact that shooter Devin Patrick Kelley was a hardcore liberal, had illegally procured firearms, and only managed to carry out the mass shooting thanks to Democrats filibustering legislation that would’ve locked him up, leftists refuse to acknowledge that disarming U.S. citizens would leave innocent Americans at the mercy of criminals.
After listening to the emotional and illogical rhetoric from the left on gun control, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd took his turn at the podium. Instead of attempting to coddle the cluelessly irrational liberals over their phobia of firearms, the experienced sheriff gave them an unpleasant yet much-needed dose of reality with his response.
In an interview that has thoroughly outraged the anti-gun left, Sheriff Judd answered their cry for a stop to mass shootings by saying that the only way to prevent such massacres is for law-abiding citizens to “get your concealed firearms license” in order to protect themselves and those around them, according to Blue Lives Matter.
The caption to the video of Sheriff Judd’s remarks, posted on the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, states, “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.”
“I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe for those who care enough to learn how to carry a firearm safely, use a firearm safely, get your concealed firearm license and be prepared to protect your fellow person,” Sheriff Judd said.
In response to the horrific active shooter scenarios that have happened in our country this year, most recently in Sutherland Springs, TX, Sheriff Judd discusses the importance of citizens arming themselves – the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. We are committed to keeping all of Polk County's citizens safe – where you work, live, play, and worship. We have subject matters experts who provide training to local businesses on how they can "run, hide, fight" in response to an active shooter, and how make their businesses a hard target for an active shooter. After all his years on the force, Judd understands that while police officers can’t be at a vulnerable citizen’s side at all times, a firearm certainly can. He explained that this was once again proved when 2 armed heroes stopped Kelley from murdering even more church-goers in the Sutherland Springs church shooting.
“Children, adults are in church on a Sunday morning in a small community in Texas worshiping. And they are assaulted by a nut. I mean this guy is mentally deranged obviously,” Sheriff Judd said in the video.
“And somebody has got to be there with a gun to stop him. I mean, think about it. He shows up with an AR-15 and a lot of ammunition. Sure it’s easy to kill people when there is no one there shooting back. But all that changed when the neighbor shows up with a gun and starts shooting at him. They exchanged shots. He throws the gun down and runs to his car,” the sheriff said.
Judd concluded that law-abiding gun owners should not be demonized, as they regularly are by the left. In fact, he added that they should be lauded as heroes for protecting even the far-left leaning Americans who despise them.
“A good person with a gun is not a danger to society. They are an attribute. The bottom line to it is simply this: we got to look out for each other in this society, we always have. We have to be safe. We live under the illusion of safety if we don’t have the training and equipment to protect ourselves,” he said.
Judd has repeatedly encouraged law-abiding citizens to arm themselves in order to avoid being a “sitting duck.” According to The Washington Times, the sheriff recently confessed that an armed criminal’s biggest wish is that his targets are unarmed.
“If you’re not afraid of a gun, get one,” the sheriff told a local ABC affiliate. “Become proficient. Get a concealed firearms license and carry it. And if you need to shoot somebody, shoot ‘em a lot.”
“The armed assailant doesn’t plan on you fighting back,” he said. “He plans on having a gun, doing all the shooting, and you’re just the sitting duck. Well, the ducks need to shoot back.”
Of course, this isn’t the only controversy surrounding Sheriff Judd. As Florida residents prepared for the approach of Hurricane Irma, he tweeted out a warning to criminals that prompted a backlash from the left and a lawsuit from Nexus Services, an organization that provides legal aid for immigrants.
“If you go to a shelter for #Irma and you have a warrant, we’ll gladly escort you to the safe and secure shelter called the Polk County Jail,” he wrote.
While Judd’s claims are viciously scorned by the left, his words are easily proved true. The only reason Kelley stopped shooting innocent Texans was that a “good guy with a gun” came to the rescue. If the neighbors hadn’t confronted Kelley with their legally-owned firearms, he would’ve continued finishing off the survivors. Sadly, the mass shooting could’ve been prevented if only the church-goers were armed themselves.
Like many bloodthirsty criminals, Kelley was counting on the church to be one of the gun-free zones for which liberals repeatedly call. Still, the emotional left relies solely on their feelings instead of facts, threatening to make even more Americans helpless in the face of mass murderers.
