It would appear that President Donald Trump wasn’t wrong when he promised Americans so much winning that we would get tired of it. Colin Kaepernick, the Trump-hating former 49ers quarterback who dishonored our flag, law enforcement, and military with his infamous National Anthem protest last season, has now made an announcement that has millions of his liberal buddies furious.
According to The Blaze, the failing quarterback has recently rejoined the job market after a controversial year of political upheaval resulting from his on the field antics. Kaepernick apparently will no longer kneel for the National Anthem if he is given the opportunity to play football with another team in the NFL. However, only time will tell if the league’s owners have any use for this truly despicable drama queen in shoulder pads.
The newly unemployed player will stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” next season, according to sources close to him who spoke with ESPN Thursday. Kaepernick first started his ugly protest in August 2016 when he refused to stand during the 49ers preseason game against Green Bay. He justified his dishonorable gesture by saying that it was to protest the “oppression” of black people in the United States.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick explained at the time. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
Kaepernick stayed in his seat during the National Anthem for all of the team’s preseason games except for one, when he took a knee instead. In every single following season game, the struggling quarterback knelt for the National Anthem.
Although millions of liberals across the nation cheered Kaepernick’s protest, they were, however, outnumbered greatly by the number of Americans who expressed their limitless disgust with the quarterback and the league by boycotting the NFL altogether.
Now that Kaepernick is looking for a new job, it seems like he wants to appear like a professional prior to potential job interviews. In my opinion, it’s too late for Kaepernick to convince the league that he’s turned over a new leaf after causing so many fans to leave the NFL.
It’s doubtful that Kaepernick can persuade another team to take a chance on him. The liberal athlete definitely has an uphill battle after a poor season with the 49ers and a busload of political baggage. I, for one, hope not to see his name on any team roster next year.
