3 US Congressmen Arrested For Sick Act Outside Of Trump Tower, All Have 1 Thing In Common

As the United Nations General Assembly meets in New York City, three unruly U.S. Congressmen have been arrested for a sick act outside of Trump Tower, and they all have one thing in common.

Three United States Congressmen were arrested outside of Trump Tower on Tuesday, where they had joined demonstrators who were protesting to demand action on shielding young undocumented immigrants from deportation. All were Hispanic Democrats. According to The Hill, Democratic Reps. Luis Gutierrez (Ill.), Raúl Grijalva (Ariz.), and Adriano Espaillat (N.Y.) were all arrested while rallying outside Trump’s Manhattan residence with advocacy groups, aides confirmed.

“We’re taking the necessary steps to make it clear to President Trump, the Republicans, and the Democrats that we will continue this peaceful fight for DREAMers and immigrants as long as it takes to enact legislation and put DREAMers in a safe place,” Gutierrez, the chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Immigration Task Force, said in a statement.

Apparently, by “necessary steps,” he meant that lawmakers would be sitting in the streets, accomplishing absolutely nothing but to get themselves arrested.

Reps. Raul Grijalva and Luis Gutierrez were arrested outside Trump Tower Tuesday afternoon after sitting in the street outside the building in Manhattan.

Reports from the scene indicated Grijalva, D-Ariz., and Gutierrez, D-Ill., were among multiple lawmakers who joined a crowd sitting in the street outside the building.

Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y., was among the other federal lawmakers who joined in the protest. Police also arrested New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.

Democrats sure know how to waste some tax dollars. If they’re not engaged in reckless spending, they’re getting paid to sit.

I don’t recall any Republican lawmakers sitting in the street when Barack Obama was president, despite the fact that his agenda could not have been more adverse to everything the GOP believes in. No, when Obama was president, Republicans pulled up their bootstraps and went to work on Capitol Hill each day in the interest of the American people. Apparently, we cannot expect the same level of maturity from the Democrats, who are too busy throwing themselves on the floor and throwing tantrums.

Perhaps even more problematic than the maturity level of these elected officials, though, is the fact that they condone violence as an acceptable form of protest.

It’s no secret that the liberal left has accepted violence as an acceptable form of protest. It took months for Nancy Pelosi to condemn Antifa. Liberal groups like Antifa literally tried to burn down Berkeley because someone that hurt their feelings was going to speak there. We all know how the Black Lives Matter movement adopted violence and homicidal rhetoric. But, it’s not just the protesters on the fringe that have lost touch with reality when it comes to obeying the law to get a point across. Some United States congressmen were arrested today protesting at Trump Tower. We’ll never get anywhere if we cannot learn to have a rational conversation about the issues our nation faces. When federal lawmakers have such an aversion to following the law that they’re getting arrested in the streets, we’ve got a problem, America.
