An Alabama couple was horrified to find an armed thug approach their vehicle as they pulled into their driveway after a night out on the town. The thug first shot the man through the driver’s side window and then went around to the passenger’s side to where the driver’s girlfriend was screaming in shock. Bleeding from his gunshot wound, this victim wasn’t ready to die, and he definitely wasn’t ready to let the thug harm his girlfriend.

According to the Selma Times-Journal, the incident took place on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, in Selma, Alabama, in the 1500 block of Leroy Street. As the couple arrived home at approximately 11:30 p.m. the thug, who police have identified as 20-year-old Tyner Rose, approached their vehicle without hesitation and shot the boyfriend who was driving.

In an instant, Rose ran around to the other side of the vehicle and reached through to wrestle the girlfriend’s purse away from her. This is when things took an unexpected turn for the convicted felon who had just shot a man in cold blood.

Selma Police Chief Spencer Collier explained, “The suspect was able to retrieve the purse from the female victim in the robbery.” Collier continued, “The male victim was able to produce his firearm … and then engaged in gunfire in an effort to protect both his life and the female’s life and killed the subject,” according to AI.com.

Tyner Rose died in the driveway of the couple he had tried to victimize, according to police. The Dallas County Coroner Alan Dailey reported that the suspect had multiple gunshot wounds. The male victim, who was shot by Rose, was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

Collier said that Rose was killed in what appears to be an act of self-defense. I think it’s safe to assume that if someone shoots you and goes after your girlfriend, it’s ok to shoot them at that point.

The majority of home invasion robberies where the homeowner shoots the suspect are cases where they don’t wait for the suspect to shoot first. There is a good reason for that.

The man was right to shoot this thug dead. The moment he decided he was going to try to victimize this couple, he signed his own death warrant. More and more, we see these brazen robberies throughout the country, and it’s people like this victim who aren’t afraid to stand up and defend themselves who are surviving the horrific incident. There’s one less thug in Alabama thanks to this man, who exercised his Second Amendment rights.
