Comedian Amy Schumer, the cousin of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), loves gun control and hates President Donald Trump. Needless to say, her elitist views don’t align with the values held by the majority of regular Americans. This week, Amy got some terrible news after her new comedy special premiered on Netflix.
Netflix released “Amy Schumer: The Leather Special” to high expectations, but reviews for the stand-up routine have been overwhelmingly negative thus far. “This is as funny as an autopsy,” commented one reviewer. With nearly 900 reviews, the special now has an average of just one out of five stars.
The Washington Free Beacon provided a sampling of a few of the more brutal reviews for Schumer’s Netflix special:
“I’ve had migraines that were way funnier than this stand-up performance.”
“Wow, just wow, [E]mmy award for worst comedy special ever.”
“Absolutely horrible. Amy is 1 special away from being broke and homeless.”
“Literally terrible. Do not waste your time.”
“This was painful.”
“She pauses to accommodate for the applause after the jokes….. but there are no jokes so there is no applause.”
“Take this off this site please. Wasted 15 minutes of my time. Get a rising comedian, female or male, with some actual talent besides being a woman who steals old jokes.”
The comedian did not avoid politics during her routine, mixing her strong feelings about gun control in between grotesque bits about her sex life and private parts. Previously, Schumer attacked Trump supporters for putting a “racist homophobic openly disrespectful woman abuser” in charge of the country. It’s really no wonder the audience could barely stomach her most recent performance.
Entertainment and pop culture website the Decider gathered all 876 reviews of Schumer’s special and found 710 subscribers gave it only one star, 85 gave it two stars, 22 gave it three stars, 17 gave it four stars, 33 gave it five stars, and nine gave it zero stars.
To add insult to injury, Comedy Central has yet to announce when it will release the fifth season of Schumer’s show “Inside Amy Schemer,” but it is rumored that the network may have canceled the fifth season altogether after the fourth performed poorly in viewership. At some point, Schumer and other liberal comedians like her will have to learn that their audiences do not find their shameless stump speeches for the Democratic Party very funny. Otherwise, they’ll all be out of jobs.
