The far left American terrorist group Antifa committed another attack against innocent people practicing their First Amendment rights this week. But what was worse than the attack on Christian Americans was the way the media covered the event by making Antifa the heroes and the Christians the villains.
The conservative group Patriot Prayer got a permit to hold a rally in the liberal stronghold of Portland, Oregon to march in favor of free speech. But when Antifa found out about it, the “Anti-Fascists” ironically decided that free speech was not going to happen on its watch.
The Patriot Prayer event was headed by Joey Gibson, who is a U.S. Senate candidate for Washington state, and took place at Terry Schrunk Federal Plaza. They came with their faces shown and their American flags held high. Their opponents came with their faces covered and prepared for a fight, The Oregonian reported.
And unlike the Patriot Prayer group, police confiscated weapons such as knives, chemical sprays and clubs from the far-left group. The thugs of Antifa immediately started throwing water bottles, eggs and firecrackers at the Patriot Prayer group, which prompted police to fire paintballs and teargas at the Antifa soldiers, according to The Oregonian.
But it was the Patriot Prayer group that was punished by the city of Portland. After Antifa attacked the group, the Portland police declared a riot and the city revoked its permit to hold the rally.
“They were throwing rocks, they were throwing bottles, you need to tell the truth,” a middle-aged woman told the media. “No one on our side did anything violent, everything was self-defense,” she said. “You guys have to stop it because you’re encouraging these people to come down here and try to murder us.”
But the media had no intention of telling the truth. The headlines about the riot from the media were written in a way that made the victims appear to be the aggressors.
“Right-Wing Portland Rally Declared Riot Amid Clashes With Antifa Protesters,” read the headline from The Huffington Post. “Police Declare A Riot After Far-Right And Antifa Groups Clash In Portland, Ore.,” NPR wrote as its headline.
The Associated Press wrote, “Violence erupts after right-wing group holds Oregon march.” The Hill declared on Twitter, “Police revoke far-right group’s rally permit after clashes break out with Antifa protestors.”

If you only read the headlines, as many people do, you would think that Patriot Prayer started the fight. And that is precisely what the media wants you to think.
Four arrests were made at the event, and every one of them was an Antifa member. Luiz Enrique Marquez, 46, was apprehended and charged with first-degree theft, third-degree theft, and third-degree assault. Tusitala J. Toese, 22, was charged with fourth-degree assault. Donovon Lyle Flippo, 23, was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct. Matthew Reid Braddock, 37, was charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree assault, The Daily Mail reported.
“Portland Police planned for today’s protest so that people could exercise their First Amendment rights to speech and assembly,” Portland Police Deputy Chief Bob Day said. “We seized numerous weapons early on and interceded and separated people when necessary. However, once projectiles, such as fireworks, eggs, rocks, bottles, and construction equipment were thrown and people were injured, we ordered people to disperse.”
Gibson said that the police allowed his group to be attacked by the Antifa protesters. “Portland’s the last city on the West Coast that’s doing that, so we just have to keep hitting it — I don’t see what else to do other than that,” he said. “We’ll make Portland so ugly in terms of how they allow these protesters to charge us when we have a permit. The police stood down, we were told they would not stand down, so we have to challenge it.”
Sadly, for one Antifa member, his mask did not help him from getting knocked out by someone he was harassing.
In a liberal city like Portland, it is tough for a conservative group to get the same rights as the leftists. But Antifa, again, proved that it is the left that engages in attacks. The right wants free speech, but the people who declare themselves to be anti-fascists practice the fascists tactic of silencing dissent while their friends in the media help them to portray themselves as the heroes.
