Joy Behar has come back to “The View” from their summer hiatus, and she immediately had to attack President Donald Trump. She made excuses for Joe Biden’s recent gaffes and senior moments by claiming that, compared to Trump, Joe Biden is Albert Einstein. Well, poor Joy was in for a big reality check. You’ll love this.
Wednesday on ABC’s “The View,” they played a video of 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful and former Vice President Joe Biden telling a war story with mixed facts from three separate events. You may remember he said when telling the false story: “I swear on my word as a Biden.” Or when Joe told a crowd, “We believe in truth over facts.”
Well, that sparked a discussion on “The View.”
“I think when you’re running against President Trump, facts matter,” said Abby Huntsman, which caused co-host Whoopi Goldberg to laugh out loud.
This also caused Joy Behar to become extremely defensive of her favorite candidate. “Compared to Trump, who thinks Frederick Douglass is alive and who looks directly into the sun during an eclipse, this guy is like Albert Einstein,” Behar claimed.
“If [Biden] was running against Abraham Lincoln, he’d have an issue, but he’s not,” Joy ranted. “The other thing about Biden I believe he has a certain amount of Teflon ability, you know? That people know him, and they know the gaffes, and they know that he screwed up with Anita Hill, and they know that he’s touchy-feely and he didn’t mean it. Everything has been out there already, and we’re still voting for him in big numbers.”
Behar is getting a big reality check. She’s been on vacation and has missed just how awful Biden is doing.
Brit Hume, the unbiased Fox News reporter, gave a devastating review of Biden on Tuesday night. Responding to Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s assessment that Biden, 76, seemingly doesn’t even want to be president, Hume said, “I think he’s always wanted to be president. He has tried it before repeatedly, right? Hasn’t worked out. I think now perhaps he thinks it’s his turn.”
Hume went on to say that Biden’s gaffe-prone style has been a problem for him in the past, but that his more recent blunders likely indicate something more serious.
This is a nice way of saying Biden’s going senile which coming from Hume is not to be dismissed. What really should be a big reality check for Behar is the mainstream media, who have thrown the former vice-president under the bus.
The Washington Post is one of President Trump’s biggest nemesis, and even they are reporting it’s time for old Joe to hang it up. “It’s time to bid farewell to Joe Biden,” is the title of an article they published on Labor Day.
Another article on The Post is titled: “Joe Biden isn’t just a gaffe machine. He’s the Lamborghini of gaffes.”
“[Biden] disclosed that Franklin D. Roosevelt went on television in 1929, before TV existed. He predicted that if Obama were elected, ‘we’re going to have an international crisis.’ He declared that Hillary Clinton ‘might have been a better pick than me’ for vice president. He reported that ‘you cannot go to a 7-Eleven . . . unless you have a slight Indian accent.’ He frankly told one audience: ‘You all look dull as hell,'” reports The Washington Post.
They added that Biden once said to a paralyzed man in a wheelchair: “Stand up, Chuck.” He mourned one woman (“God rest her soul”) who hadn’t died. He described Obama as “the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean.”
Well, what about the New York Times, who is no fan of President Trump? They jumped on the “get rid of Joe” bandwagon in a recent article titled: “Joe Biden Dismisses Report That He Told False War Story.”
“After The Washington Post reported that Mr. Biden had conflated several stories into one anecdote, the former vice president insisted the contours of the tale were accurate,” is the sub-headline. Another Times piece declares: “Does Joe Biden Want to Be Doing This? On certain days, Biden 2020 can feel more like a dutiful slog than the last march of a happy warrior.”
In 2011, only Joe Biden opposed the mission that killed Osama bin Laden. Every other top-level adviser was for the raid, but the vice president worried that failure would mean a one-term presidency for Obama. This is another disturbing fact which goes to the heart of his presidential decision-making skills.
Joy Behar looked like an utter fool defending Joe Biden. Her own party and their cohorts in the mainstream media have already written him off. No one in America who is paying attention is taking him seriously. Well, except someone like Joy Behar.
It’s good to know some things will never change. Joe Biden will never be president and Joy Behar will always be the village idiot of ABC’s “The View.”
