After going on a trip, one Texas woman and her family decided to stop at a Chick-fil-A to grab a quick lunch to-go. However, three hours later, she noticed that she had forgotten her purse at the restaurant. Of course, she called and got it all sorted out, but the very next day, she was left stunned to find what was left at her door — and it wasn’t just her missing handbag.
Lindsey Jones and her family were on their way back home to Lorena, Texas, when they decided to stop for a quick bite to eat at Chick-fil-A in Lubbock. After the family ordered their food and went on their way, three hours later, Lindsey would, unfortunately, notice that she had forgotten her purse back at the restaurant and immediately called them to see if they had retrieved it for her.
To her surprise, they kindly offered to ship it to her, but she needed some important items sooner than her purse would be received. That’s when she realized that she wasn’t talking to just anyone – she was talking to good Christian people.
After it was all said and done, she knew what had unfolded was nothing short of a miracle, and she turned to Facebook to share her story for the world to see. “As my family and I traveled back to Lorena from Taos, NM, we stopped at this Chick-fil-A restaurant to grab lunch to-go. Approximately THREE hours later when we stopped for gas in Abilene, I realized I must have left my purse back in Lubbock, TX at Chick-fil-A!” she recalled in the now viral post.
“I called and spoke to a very nice woman named Darcy, who assured me that they had my purse and would ship it to me right away. After thinking about all the very important things in my purse that I would need ASAP, I called back and spoke to a manager named Casey. He was incredibly helpful and understanding,” she continued, according to Love What Matters.
“He took my purse to FedEx and had it shipped to me ‘Priority Overnight.’ With it being a Saturday delivery, and being that I carry a pretty large handbag that weighed 7 lbs, you can imagine it was NOT a cheap shipment! When I called to give him a FedEx account number to use to pay for it, he told me not to worry about it because it was already taken care of!” Lindsey recalled. “I was blown away by the kindness and generosity shown to me by the staff at Chick-fil-A on 4th and Frankford in Lubbock, TX.”
However, the good deed by those at Chick-fil-A didn’t end there. She went on to explain that when she woke up the next morning to a knock at her door, she was pleased to see it was the FedEx guy with a big box containing her forgotten purse. However, that’s not all that was found in the box. The package also included 6 coupon/gift cards for free food at Chick-fil-A and a couple of plush cows that read, “EAT MOR CHIKIN.”
As my family and I traveled back to Lorena from Taos, NM, we stopped at this Chick-fil-a restaurant to grab lunch to-go….
Lindsey couldn’t believe it. “I can not thank them enough for everything they did to help me get my purse back as quickly as possible,” she said in her Facebook post. “This situation completely restored my faith in humanity! Not only was my purse found by good, honest people, but they also went above and beyond to help fix a problem — that was 1000% my fault to begin with! So, thank you, Darcy and Casey, for being so awesome!”
Losing your wallet or purse in this day in age is very stressful, to say the least. Not only is it all too often very unlikely that you’ll get it returned, but if you do, there’s little or no chance of getting it back with its entire contents untouched. Thankfully, this incident further proves not only how great Chick-fil-A and their employees are, but that there are still honest people in our world today. Just when you think all hope is lost, some generous person proves otherwise. God undoubtedly had a hand in this remarkable story.
