Clint Eastwood is one of the few actors in Hollywood who has not made a career out of pushing the progressive agenda. Instead, Eastwood has been using his acting talents to entertain fans for decades, allowing them the pleasure of viewing his movies without a side of indoctrination. Now, he’s delivering a Christmas gift to American patriots everywhere.
With Christmas fast approaching, we’ve all been given an awesome gift by legendary actor Clint Eastwood in the form of his newest movie, “The Mule,” which debuts in theaters today. Directed by Eastwood, “The Mule” offers a star-studded cast, including Bradley Cooper and Lawrence Fishburne.
The Hollywood Reporter offered high praise for the film about an old man who takes some very big risks to atone for shortcomings in his past:
This based-on-a-true-story yarn about a still-kicking but nearly destitute senior who starts running drugs for a Mexican cartel is engaging, humorous and, it would seem, quite personal in the way it portrays a man making an attempt to atone for his deficiencies as a husband and father. Eastwood’s good-times-seeking old-timer is a temperamental contrast to the cantankerous and insulting one he played in the smash hit Gran Torino a decade back, both written with the star in mind by Nick Schenk. Longtime fans should eat it up.
The success Clint Eastwood has enjoyed over the years stands in stark contrast to most of his colleagues, who would give anything to stay relevant as long as he has.
“Few leading men in film history have been active this long (Eastwood made his screen debut 63 years ago), and probably none has ever had star billing above the title for this long,” wrote film critic Todd McCarthy. “And how many modern directors have made as many films as he has? (Spielberg has directed 31 over a comparable period.)”
So, what’s Eastwood’s secret? It seems that his formula is simple: Give the people what they want. And, what they want isn’t hard to deduce. We go see movies to be entertained, not lectured on politics from people who are overpaid and sorely out-of-touch with the lives of regular Americans.
According to Breitbart, while discussing political correctness and the 1971 film “Dirty Harry” that he starred in, Eastwood said, “A lot of people thought it was politically incorrect. That was at the beginning of the era that we’re in now, where everybody thinks everyone’s politically correct.”
He continued, “[E]verybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up. That’s the kiss-ass generation we’re in right now. Everybody’s walking on eggshells,” noting a sentiment held by the majority of Americans who are fed up with everyone being constantly offended over every little thing.
Eastwood isn’t one of the celebrities you’ll hear bashing President Donald Trump, either. “He’s said a lot of dumb things. So have all of them,” admitted Eastwood with regards to Trump and other politicians. “But everybody — the press and everybody’s going, ‘Oh, well, that’s racist,’ and they’re making a big hoodoo out of it. Just f*cking get over it. It’s a sad time in history.”
Indeed. Eastwood echoes the feelings of patriots across the country who are sick and tired of celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell and Cher constantly calling Trump a Nazi and a racist because they disagree with him and don’t have the good sense to offer a legitimate argument.
If that’s the case, they ought to just shut up. After all, they have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation. Clint Eastwood is so beloved because he doesn’t let politics get in the way of his craft. Perhaps it’s time for other entertainers to take the hint.
