CNN recently held an anti-gun townhall in hopes of pushing the nation toward gun control. Too bad for them, things blew up in their faces as people noticed something rather fishy — and viewers were left downright shocked by what cameras caught in the crowd.
Emotion is a pretty effective tool when it comes to motivation. We’re seeing that now more than ever after 17 people were left dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, as the left has been crying out for gun control ever since.
However, emotion doesn’t always result in the best decisions, especially when it comes to implementing policy. There’s a reason people often say not to do something rash when you’re upset, but the left has yet to learn this valuable lesson.
Although things like logic and common sense need to play a part in the discussion about such things, liberals are hoping that won’t be the case if they’re effective enough at pushing their agenda while emotions are still running high. In a push like we’ve never seen before, the liberal media is trying to keep emotions flared on the topic in hopes of forcing legislators to pass gun control without a rational conversation.
We’ve recently witnessed just how desperate they are to keep things that way as CNN just held a town hall. Keeping up appearances of “fairness,” they invited people from both sides of the aisle to speak on the issue of guns, but their true intent was revealed almost instantaneously. This wasn’t a discussion — it was a slaughter.
In fact, viewers were left downright shocked by what cameras caught in the crowd. Before the big reveal, we’ll give you a chance to see if you can spot it:

If not in that clip, then how about this one?

As can clearly be seen, CNN made sure to fill the seats with leftists who are hoping for more gun control. Throughout the entire event, a large majority of the crowd could be heard booing Second Amendment advocates while cheering for those who wanted to infringe on our constitutionally protected rights.
At one point, things became so severe that the event’s host, Jake Tapper, was forced to tell the crowd to settle down because Senator Marco Rubio couldn’t get a word in edgewise. In all, the night was so bad, people couldn’t help but see that CNN had “stacked” the audience against anyone advocating for gun rights, as readers of The Daily Wire put it.
As if that wasn’t enough to prove that CNN wanted to give liberals the edge here, what happened to one of the Florida shooting survivors absolutely does. According to Breitbart, “Colton Haab, a student who survived last week’s mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, refused to participate in a CNN Town Hall on Wednesday night after he was told to ask a ‘scripted’ question.”
Colton, who put his life at risk to rescue others during the Florida shooting, is a hero, but apparently, that wasn’t enough for CNN to let him have his own voice.
In short, Colton Haab alleges that he had prepared several questions for that night but was eventually told that he had to ask the questions that CNN wanted him to ask. Of course, that was the moment he knew that he wasn’t going to take part in the partisan event.
“I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my opinion on my questions,” Colton told reporter Janine Stanwood, who relayed that Colton, a member of the Junior ROTC who “shielded classmates in the midst of terror,” didn’t get to share his experience. “CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it ended up being all scripted,” Colton added.
“Colton wrote questions about school safety, suggested using veterans as armed school security guards, but claims CNN wanted him to ask a scripted question instead. So he decided not to go,” Stanwood explained.
“I don’t think that it’s going to get anything accomplished. It’s not going to ask the true questions that all the parents and teachers and students have,” Colton furthered, as reported by Breitbart.
Since then, CNN has received so much backlash that they have actually been forced to respond to the allegations. So, how did they respond? Well, they decided to attack the shooting survivor and hero by calling him a liar:

As one would imagine, no one believes CNN after they essentially reinforced their reputation for being fake news once again. CNN would like you to believe that most Americans want gun control, but the fact of the matter is, they don’t — at least, not the kind the left is proposing. If it was what the majority of Americans wanted, one would think such legislation would have been passed by former President Barack Obama when Democrats held the House and Senate.
In the end, CNN’s town hall is what the American people have come to expect from them — a complete and utter sh*t show. CNN has paraded these kids around as political props from day one. Worse, they’re now attacking the one who opposes their narrative, even though he deserves praise for what he did during the tragedy. CNN is headed down the drain, and they just expedited the process by attacking a genuine hero.
