A sneaky Democratic mayor is under fire today after his tactics left many feeling as though they weren’t adequately represented by elected officials. Unfortunately, shocked residents would only learn that they were swindled too late – and that was after they woke the next morning to see what was missing.

There’s no arguing that Democrat politicians are some of the most conniving individuals this world has ever seen. It’s why idiots in New York were able to pass the 2nd Amendment infringing SAFE Act in the dead of night, and it’s also why they were able to do what just happened in New Orleans, Louisiana.

According to reports, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu recently ordered construction crews to get to work as the city slept to ensure that everyone encountered as little inconvenience as humanly possible. When in reality, it seems the Democratic leader was scared of resistance, so he had workers wearing bullet proof vests just in case.

Come to find out, the sneaky politician finally got to work on what the predominantly black council voted on back in 2015. Although he met endless public resistance, Landrieu set out to remove the first of 5 public monuments honoring the history of the Civil War.

Residents woke to find that the Liberty Place monument had been taken down during the night, and this reality isn’t going to end anytime soon. As it turns out, other statues, like the ones honoring Confederate Generals Robert E. Lee and P.G.T. Beauregard and Confederate States of America President Jefferson Davis, are set to be taken down soon as well.

The action has left a great many people feeling misrepresented and undercut as citizens in the community like Civil War re-enactor Robert Bonner. “I think it’s a terrible thing,” Bonner said. “When you start removing history of the city, you start losing money. You start losing where you came from and where you’ve been.”

As for Landrieu, he doesn’t really care what the constituents who disagree with him say as he essentially got his way. “If there was ever a statue that needed to be taken down, it’s that one,” he said. “There’s a better way to use the property these monuments are on and a way that better reflects who we are.”

However, there’s a very big problem in what the Democratic mayor is doing, and it will prove to be detrimental in the future – if not directly, then in collaboration with several other acts just like it. For the same reason that President Donald Trump was elected, it seems that the left still doesn’t understand the harm in silencing those they don’t agree with.

In the end, the Civil War is a large part of American history and needs to be remembered so that it isn’t repeated. Although slavery may have been the issue at the forefront of the Civil War, the central issue is that the 7 seceded states didn’t feel properly represented by the Federal Government.

In turn, Democrats are now seeking to do just that again against the American citizens who they don’t agree with, proving that they not only don’t learn but don’t care about anyone else but themselves. It’s why they’re so quick to turn on their own and America launched an unofficial revolution to defeat them during the most recent presidential election.

Doing things in the cover of night isn’t the smart way to go about it, and it exposes the fact that you have something to hide. Snobbery is every bit as dangerous as it is ugly – and Democrats are starting to learn that the hard way. Too bad for them, by the time they fully get it through their thick heads, it’ll be far too late, and chances are, by then, they’ll have fully destroyed their own party.
