Under the leadership of former President Barack Obama, the entitlement mentality has spiraled out of control in America, and many across the country are growing increasingly tired of it. Proving just that most recently is Denzel Washington who had some bad news for the cop-hating group known as Black Lives Matter – and it took just 4 words to get his point across.
Denzel Washington is a man with common sense. In the past, he has taken aim at issues such as liberal media bias and even whining celebrities. At the end of the day, it looks like the guy just wants people to tell the truth and get along as best they can while giving respect to those who truly deserve it.
Although many people feel the same way, it seems that the entitled left believes they’re owed something they didn’t deserve. Of course, those most guilty of that notion are none other than the domestic terror organization known as Black Lives Matter (BLM).
As we’ve seen, the group has made outrageous calls for reparations, the execution of police officers, and a wide variety of other ridiculous things. Shockingly, they’ve even gone so far as to demand the return of things like discrimination and segregation, but this time, they hope that it benefits those with darker skin.
Most people can see the ridiculousness in such a mentality, but others seem to be blinded by their own bias. Too bad for them, they just got a massive reality check courtesy of Denzel Washington.
Speaking in an interview with reporters at his newest film’s downtown New York premiere, he slapped entitled BLM members hard with a brutal warning. For those unaware, the famed celebrity and Oscar winner is playing the role of Roman J. Israel, Esq. – a defense attorney who gets himself into quite the precarious situation.
It seems that the role has opened Denzel’s eyes to at least one thing, and liberal cop-haters aren’t going to like it. According to New York Daily News, Denzel says people “can’t blame the system,” referring to both the justice and prison system, adding that their problems start long before — “at home.”
Veteran actor Denzel Washington says his latest role as a dogged defense attorney in Roman J. Israel, Esq. reinforced his belief that black men “can’t blame the system” because we make it “easy work” when it comes to filling America’s prisons.
“It starts at the home. It starts at home. It starts with how you raise your children. If a young man doesn’t have a father figure, he’ll go find a father figure,” the Academy Award-winner told reporters at the Dan Gilroy-directed film’s New York premiere, the New York Daily News reports.
“So you know I can’t blame the system. It’s unfortunate that we make such easy work for them,” Washington said. [Source: Breitbart]
Of course, anyone who’s familiar with Denzel knows that he wouldn’t just end there. Proving that he’s a very smart man, he continued by hitting his point home, using his personal experience.
“I grew up with guys who did decades (in prison), and it had as much to do with their fathers not being in their lives as it did to do with any system,” said Denzel. “Now I was doing just as much as they were, but they went further.”
In fact, he went so far as to state that he was headed down that path for a brief moment in time but was able to do what so many others couldn’t – change. “I just didn’t get caught, but they kept going down that road and then they were in the hands of the system,” the actor added. “But it’s about the formative years. You’re not born a criminal.”
This nation could benefit from just two things: accountability and respect. The longer this country goes without those two core traits, the worse off we all become. Let’s just hope more people come to their senses by listening to people like Denzel — and God knows there are plenty who need to hear his words.
