District Attorney With Ties To Obamas Let’s Trump-Hater Smollett Go Scot-Free

In a bizarre turn of events, “Empire” star Jussie Smollett is getting away scot-free. Smollett was charged with 16 felonies for staging a hoax crime claiming two Trump supporters attacked him. Shocking reports claim District Attorney Kim Foxx, who has ties to the Obamas, dropped all charges even though Chicago Police Chief Eddie Johnson was livid and was ready to prosecute Smollett. Well, you don’t want to miss this tangled tale of injustice.

From the very beginning, the entire Jussie Smollett case was inundated with anti-Trump forces with ties to the Obamas. Now, he is getting off scot-free thanks to DA Kim Foxx who was contacted by Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff Tina Tchen.

But before we get to that, let’s review the case. Smollett is a rabid Trump-hater who by all accounts allegedly sent a fake letter addressed to himself to the FOX studios on January 18th, reaching him on January 22nd.

“The envelope was addressed in childlike scrawl to Empire TV star Jussie Smollett at Cinespace Studios, a West Side production facility that the Fox program calls home. ‘MAGA’ — the acronym for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign slogan ‘Make America Great Again’ — was sloppily written in the return address space,” reports CWB Chicago.

It appears that Smollett was allegedly using the letter which included a white powder with a stick figure drawn with a gun to its head, as a run-up to the hoax attack. Then, on January 29th Smollett allegedly staged the fake attack with his two Nigerian personal trainers, who he paid $3,500 dollars by personal check.

The Chicago Police Department had overwhelming evidence this was a hoax crime. They had a video of the Nigerian brothers in the exact location where the fake attack happened on January 29th. It also happened at below 42 degrees at 2 am, yet Smollett claimed the “two white men wearing MAGA hats” called him by name as if they were looking for him on the Southside of Chicago which is predominately an African-American neighborhood.

The Nigerian brothers also admitted to the plot confessing to police it was Smollett’s idea to stage a fake attack by Trump supporters. The brothers were caught on video at the sporting goods store buying the rope and ski masks a few days before the attack. The Chicago detectives who were sent to Smollett’s residence the night of the attack found the entire thing ludicrous especially after Smollett was still wearing the fake noose fashioned from what is identical to the rope the Nigerian brothers bought.

After all the evidence that the police worked so diligently to get, its always up to the prosecutor if the case will be tried in court. That’s where DA Kim Foxx comes in. She just let Smollett get away scot-free even though a grand jury indicted Smollett on 16 felony charges.

“After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case,” according to a statement from the office of the Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, sent to USA TODAY by her spokeswoman, Tandra Simonton.

It just happens that Foxx was contacted at the beginning of this case by Tina Tchen, a close adviser to Michelle Obama who worked as her chief of staff at the White House. Tchen told Foxx that the Smollett family didn’t want the Chicago Police Department in charge. Tchen advised Foxx to turn the case over to the FBI.

“I wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation,” Tchen wrote in a text sent before 5 a.m. on February 1, seeking to set up a call with Foxx before Tchen left on an 8 a.m. flight to New York.

They exchanged other text messages which were all sympathetic to Smollett. But, we have no idea of what other contacts Tchen had with Foxx. All we know is that for whatever reason Foxx met with Smollett’s attorneys behind closed doors and let him go based on his prior “volunteer service.” Foxx did not confer with the police chief at all.

Smollett then holds court at a press conference today and claims he is innocent and stands by his account of the hoax crime. Smollett pledged he will continue fighting for “justice” and “equality.”

“I would not be my mother’s son if I was capable of one drop of what I was being accused of,” he told reporters after a court hearing. He thanked the state of Illinois “for attempting to do what’s right.”

“Now I’d like nothing more than to just get back to work and move on with my life,” Smollett said. “But make no mistake, I will always continue to fight for the justice, equality and betterment of marginalized people everywhere,” he added.

“They chose to hide behind the truth and broker a deal,” said Police Chief Eddie Johnson, who was visibly angry. Johnson told reporters this case was “politically motivated” but didn’t go into details. “Do I think justice was served?” asked Johnson. “No. And I think this city is still owed an apology.”

The case was “air-tight” claimed the Chicago Police Department, and the grand jury agreed. If Jussie Smollett wanted his name cleared, as the police chief said, he would have welcomed a trial. Instead, this tainted DA Kim Foxx who was contacted by Michelle Obama’s former top aide decides on her own to not prosecute. This smells of corruption, the kind of corruption Americans came to know under the Obama regime.
