Donald Trump: ‘The Wall Is Getting Done One Way Or The Other!’ — Pelosi Freaks

On Thursday, President Donald Trump promised his supporters that “the wall is getting done one way or the other!” This was music to the ears of conservatives who know that we must establish an impenetrable barrier between the United States and Mexico if we’re ever going to fix our immigration problems. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand, was freaking out.

Last week, President Donald Trump ended the partial government shutdown so that furloughed workers would be able to receive their paychecks, but that doesn’t mean that he’s given up on the issue of border security.

The partial government shutdown began over a dispute surrounding border wall funding on December 22. Trump had previously threatened to veto any spending bills that didn’t include funding for a border wall.

The Senate later failed to pass two competing bills to end the shutdown on Thursday. Subsequently, the president on Friday announced that he was endorsing a short-term spending bill to end the shutdown. Trump also thanked government employees for their dedication and hard work.

“I am very proud to announce today that we have reached a deal to end the shutdown and reopen the government,” Trump told reporters outside the White House. “In a short while, I will sign a bill to reopen the government for three weeks until February 15. I will make sure federal employees receive their back pay very quickly or as soon as possible. It will happen fast.”

Trump announced his support for the short-term spending bill with the record-long shutdown causing increased problems. Hundreds of thousands of furloughed workers missed their second paycheck, airport security has suffered personnel issues, and uncertainty had been created in the economy.

President Donald Trump issued a compromise offer to end the shutdown during a speech on January 19. Senate Republicans brought the proposed deal up in a bill that would exchange border wall funding for deportation protections that cover the immigrant group known as dreamers.

But the Democrats have only mocked Trump for ending the partial shutdown, showing absolutely no good faith that they are willing to negotiate now that the government is open once again. Apparently, they think they’ve won this fight. However, they couldn’t be more wrong.

President Trump took to Twitter on Thursday morning to reassure his base that he will build the wall, as promised. “Large sections of WALL have already been built with much more either under construction or ready to go,” wrote Trump. “Renovation of existing WALLS is also a very big part of the plan to finally, after many decades, properly Secure Our Border. The Wall is getting done one way or the other!”

“Lets just call them WALLS from now on and stop playing political games! A WALL is a WALL!” added the president.

Indeed, President Donald Trump is going to get his wall come hell or high water. It appears that his plan is to declare a national emergency in order to get it built if the Democrats refuse to cooperate. This is well within his legal powers, and if the Democrats force his hand, you better believe he is willing to take drastic measures.

If President Trump is forced to declare a national emergency to get the wall built, he will have gotten his way and the Democrats will have walked away empty-handed. It is in their best interest to work with him, especially as he has offered temporary protection for DACA recipients in exchange for a measly $5.7 billion in funding.

Will Nancy Pelosi really be stubborn enough to pass up this opportunity and walk away with nothing? At this point, I wouldn’t put it past her.
