When a woman at a Hooters restaurant realized that she needed to relieve herself, she decided to head to the bathroom. However, the mundane task would soon take a turn when she saw an ominous sign hanging above a toilet — and a picture of it is going viral for good reason.
A picture of the strange sign was first posted to Imgur and eventually made it’s way to Reddit, where it has caught quite a bit of attention. Although it’s unclear where the photograph was taken, people are saying that they hope to see more of its kind in the future.
As seen in the image, the sign bearing the company’s logo simply reads:
Are you on a date that isn’t going well?
Is your Tinder or Plenty of Fish date not who they said they were on their profile?
Do you feel unsafe or even a bit weird?
We’re here to help. Just go to the bar and order an ANGEL SHOT.
NEAT: Your bartender will escort you to your car.
WITH ICE: Your bartender will call and Uber or Lyft for you.
WITH LIME: Your bartender will call the police.
We’ll handle things discreetly, and without a lot of fuss. (We’ve been there and we want you to know you’re in good hands.)
Of course, the nature of the sign has people looking at a potential threat in an entirely different way. It’s a scary thing to think about a simple date this way. Although technology has been a great advancement, it has also brought about a slew of new threats as well.
There will always be people out there looking to take advantage of you, and finding innovative ways of doing that is a standard practice among criminals. However, most people in our society are good, with strong moral values, meaning that there is always more of “us” than “them.”
The point here is simple – we all need to look out for each other. Hooters went out of their way to make their restaurant a safe place for all and comfort those who may feel a bit nervous. Although their establishment may not be admired by all, at least they’re ensuring that everyone who walks through their doors is well looked after. I think we could all benefit from having that mindset about one another.
