Last Thursday, a San Fransisco jury acquited illegal immigrant Jose Ines Garcia Zarate of murder, even though he fatally shot Kate Steinle while she was out walking with her father in 2015. Fox News host Laura Ingraham was livid over the verdict, as were millions of other Americans. Now, she is telling President Donald Trump how he can essentially end sanctuary cities forever.
On The Ingraham Angle this week, Laura Ingraham suggested that President Trump name one of the many federal parks in San Francisco after Kate Steinle so that the city can never forget what happened to the beautiful young woman because of the city’s sanctuary policy. Hopefully, the increased awareness of Steinle’s story will lead to a stronger push to end sanctuary cities forever.
San Fransisco is one of several major cities nationwide which offer “sanctuary” to illegal immigrants, essentially standing in the way of federal and local law enforcement authorities deporting them. Many of the illegal immigrants who flock to these cities have committed heinous crimes and been deported numerous times before, like the man who fatally shot Kate Steinle.
Laura Ingraham proposed President Trump move to rename a federal park in San Francisco in honor of Kate Steinle, who was fatally shot by an illegal immigrant in the city in 2015.
The Ingraham Angle host sounded off on the recent acquittal of Jose Ines Garcia Zarate, who had been deported back to Mexico five times before the fatal incident. Zarate, whom city officials failed to hold on an ICE detainer before Steinle’s death, was only convicted on a firearms charge.
Ingraham said Trump should take the immediate action in order to honor 32-year-old Steinle and “shame” the city of San Francisco for its sanctuary city policies.

“Suppose this week President Trump issues a presidential proclamation, renaming that park ‘Kate Steinle Park,'” Ingraham suggested, asking whether Democrats like Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Jerry Brown, and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee would try to block it.
“It would stand as a stark reminder that all lives matter, even if some politicians and courts seem to care more about the lives of illegal aliens than they do about the lives of lawful citizens and legal immigrants to the United States,” she concluded.
Ingraham said that in addition to the symbolic move, the Senate must move on a House-approved bill to defund sanctuary cities.
House Republicans took action Thursday to crack down on illegal immigrants and the cities that shelter them.
One bill passed by the House would deny federal grants to sanctuary cities and another, Kate’s Law, would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States.
Kate’s Law, which would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States and caught, passed with a vote of 257 to 157, with one Republican voting no and 24 Democrats voting yes.

It’s difficult to imagine the grief that Kate Steinle’s family is feeling at this moment after learning that her killer will not have to pay for taking her beautiful life so senselessly. Indeed, the least San Fransisco could do would be to dedicate a park in her memory. President Trump should move to make Laura Ingraham’s suggestion a reality as soon as possible! If you agree, let it be known by sharing Laura’s brilliant idea with the masses.
