The fall of former FBI Director James Comey has been one for the history books. A man who once commanded near universal respect from Republicans and Democrats alike has been totally disgraced before the entire nation, and his career is in ruins. Comey has jumped from the frying pan and into the fire, so to speak, landing in even hotter water as what was really in his infamous “Trump memos” is getting exposed, and it’s much worse than anyone originally thought.

During Comey’s testimony last month, he let it slip that he had leaked the memos to the press by way of a close friend. While this was already a gross violation in and of itself, it now appears that Comey leaked even more than he intended to.

In June, Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee that he had a friend leak his personal memos to the New York Times shortly after being fired by Trump in May. At the time, Comey testified that he leaked the documents to defend his reputation after Trump dissed him on Twitter.

Comey also claimed that the memos he wrote as FBI director detailing his top-secret conversations with the president of the United States did not contain any classified information and were his personal property. [Source: BizPac Review]

Apparently, the claim that his memos didn’t contain any classified information was just another of the many lies which Comey told because officials who have seen the documents with their own eyes are saying that his claim is patently false as they did, indeed, contain classified material.

In fact, not one but four of the seven memos Comey wrote chronicling his conversations with Trump did contain classified intel. Not only that, the claim that the memos were his personal property was a lie as well — unless the former director is completely oblivious to FBI policy. Either way, it’s not good news for Comey, no matter how you cut it.

Four of the memos had markings making clear they contained information classified at the secret or confidential level, according to officials directly familiar with the matter.

A spokesman for the FBI on Sunday declined to comment.

FBI policy forbids any agent from releasing classified information or any information from ongoing investigations or sensitive operations without prior written permission, and it mandates that all records created during official duties are considered to be government property. [Source: The Hill]

We certainly haven’t seen the last of this mess. James Comey is a vindictive traitor — one appointed by Barack Obama, coincidentally — who put national security secrets at risk in a shameless bid to take down Trump due to his own personal vendetta over a tweet. What James Comey did was highly illegal, and he must pay the price.
