Jimmy Tries To Bait Kim Into Trashing Trump, Shocked By What She Does Instead

On Monday night, Kim Kardashian West was interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel on his show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kimmel tried ardently to bait his guest into trashing President Donald Trump, but she was having none of it. Imagine the liberal late-night host’s surprise when Kardashian not only refused to throw Trump under the bus, but did this instead…

Jimmy Kimmel tried his very best to bait Kim Kardashian into trashing President Donald Trump when she appeared on his program Monday night. However, even though the late night host gave her a cornucopia of chances to make Trump the butt of his nasty jokes, Kardashian refused, instead choosing to say how thankful she was for Trump commuting the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson.

Johnson was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for her involvement facilitating communications within a 1996 cocaine trafficking operation. When Kardashian West learned of her case, she met with Jared Kushner and the president to push for Johnson’s pardon.

In June, President Trump signed Johnson’s commutation with Kardashian by his side in the Oval Office. Johnson was promptly released from prison and reunited with her family for the first time in more than two decades. The moment she ran to greet her loved ones was caught on tape, capturing the hearts of Americans nationwide.

“I want to say to President Trump, I am going to make you proud that you gave me this second chance in life,” Johnson told CNN after she was released. “And I will not disappoint the American public or the world that has so much faith in me,” she continued. “All I can say is thank you, President Trump. And I love you, President Trump! Thank you.”

Kardashian was similarly grateful for Trump’s benevolence during her interview. “I knew there was only one person in power that can make this change and get this woman out of prison that was serving a life sentence and so I went for it,” she told Kimmel Monday night. “You know, I’m very grateful and I’m very hopeful that more good things are gonna come out of our conversations.”

“I have nothing bad to say about the president,” Kardashian added later on in their conversation after Kimmel had tried his best to get her to say something negative or demeaning about Trump. “He has done something amazing,” she said.

Kardashian’s husband, Kanye West, is also a supporter of President Trump, having gone so far as tweeting a selfie while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and posting another picture of a MAGA hat that had been signed by the president:

You have to hand it to Kim Kardashian — what she did last night was very brave. The vast majority of her fan base does not support the president. In fact, they loathe him. Speaking up on Trump’s behalf is certainly not the popular thing to do, especially for one of the most famous celebrities in the world, but Kim Kardashian put popularity aside in the interest of what might be accomplished in the future if she works together with the president.

Kardashian is a savvy woman. She knows that President Trump will never invite her back to the Oval Office if she publicly denounces him. Other liberals ought to take a lesson from her. We can accomplish far more when we stop hurling unnecessary attacks at one another and, instead, come together for the good of the American people, just as Kim Kardashian — a staunch Hillary Clinton supporter — did when she set aside party politics in order to work with the president to get Alice Johnson freed. This a perfect example of what could be accomplished if more people, particularly lawmakers, did the same.
