Joy Behar had a hard time on The View today. The 75-year-old Trump hater had to admit the economy was roaring, but she refuses to give any credit to President Donald Trump. In fact, she said Americans won’t vote for Trump because he’s “so disgusting” and they “hate him.” Well, instantly she was made to regret it. You’ll love this.
Joy Behar’s problem is she is so skewed by who she perceives President Trump to be, the former comedian can’t understand how he got elected. Her hatred for Trump is guiding every word that comes out of her mouth. Now, the 75-year-old believes she knows the minds of all Americans.
Whoopi Goldberg started a discussion on Joe Biden’s message to Trump supporters. Biden shared his pitch to voters who supported Trump, asking, “Did you get any benefit from the tax cut? Do your employers treat you with any more respect and dignity than they did before?”
If this is Biden’s message to Trump supporters, we have no idea why Joy Behar weighed in. But, that’s exactly what the Trump hater did.
“Trump is up to over telling over 10,000 lies now in the time he has been in office,” claimed Behar. “An angel gets his wings every time he lies. The other thing about the economy that is interesting is Trump’s numbers don’t seem to go past 38-39% [approval rating], with an economy like this he should be in the 70s. That’s why Clinton did so well. But he’s so disgusting that people hate him anyway.”

Well, big mouth Behar was doing some lying. Trump’s overall approval rating is 43% and his economy approval rate is 56%. And that’s according to the mainstream news. Even ABC News is warning these Trump haters like Joy Behar: “It’s the economy, stupid. A strong economy, incumbency could mean a Trump re-election victory in 2020.”
“Historically, the economy is a very important factor for presidential elections, and I’d say it may be even more important for incumbent presidents,” said Kyle Kondik, managing editor of Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. And these guys are Democrats.
“Looking at historical trends, Trump’s odds as an incumbent look good, particularly if the economy continues on track,” ABC reported. “Since 1900, there have been 19 presidents who ran for re-election and only four have lost: George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, Herbert Hoover, and William Taft. (Gerald Ford didn’t technically lose his re-election since he was never officially elected president.)”
Since the mid-20th century, every time an incumbent lost his re-election it could be attributed to an intervening economic recession or downturn. On the flip side, a good economy helped propel Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton to easy re-election victories while a mixed economy contributed to Barack Obama’s competitive 2012 re-election.
As for Behar herself and the remarks she made, Americans weighed in and destroyed her. “People want to work. What about the 5 million new jobs. That Biden and Obama told the American people. Our jobs won’t be coming back,” tweeted Bryon Ingle.

“I sure as HELL did benefit from the tax cuts this year! For all the years that Odumber was in office I had to pay Federal and State taxes, and this is the first year under Trump, I did not owe any Federal or State taxes! And NO, I am not a rich person, I am actually poor!” tweeted Alecia Yarrish.

Americans know the economy has made a strong recovery from the Barack Obama years. If Joy Behar believes this ridiculous message from Joe Biden about “getting dignity at work” is somehow going to translate into votes, well she really is delusional.
Just how would the federal government ensure “dignity at work?” And isn’t having a job and getting a paycheck, dignity? If we go back to the Obama years, Americans will face the high-interest rates, we will see our jobs go overseas once again, and unemployment will skyrocket. Doesn’t sound so dignified, does it? Joy Behar is in for a real shocker when Trump wins re-election.
