Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) got testy on the Senate floor on Tuesday, mouthing off about immigration enforcement. No sooner had she begun her senseless tirade, though, than President Donald Trump’s DHS Secretary shut her down with ten perfect words. You’re going to love this!
Rookie Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) is repeatedly proving that she has no idea what she’s doing on Capitol Hill. First, she questioned President Donald Trump’s nominee for CIA Director like a total “kindergartner,” according to former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino:
Former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino ripped California Sen. Kamala Harris for her questioning of Gina Haspel, President Trump’s pick to lead the CIA. “I’m kind of disgusted by Kamala Harris,” Bongino said of the Democrat. “The question is fair, the way she phrased it is not.”
Harris asked Haspel whether she believed enhanced interrogation techniques were immoral. Haspel was trying to expound on the question to give a nuanced answer when Harris repeatedly interrupted to ask for a “yes” or “no.” Bongino said Harris “asked [the question] like a Kindergartener: ‘Is killing bad?’.”
He said that intelligence work is not black and white and that Harris was only being tough on Haspel because the senator has 2020 presidential aspirations. Laura Ingraham pointed out that Harris previously called a proposed 20-week abortion ban “immoral” but was conversely critical of waterboarding terrorists. [Source: Fox News]
Now, Kamala Harris has demonstrated once again that she simply has no business serving as a U.S. senator. This time, the California Democrat attempted to grill Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen over the policy of separating illegal aliens from their children when they are caught entering the country together. Harris opposes the policy, in which illegal alien adults are detained and children are placed in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services while the adult’s case is adjudicated, according to The Daily Caller.
Harris was very concerned with the policy of detaining parents, causing separation from their children. “I’m extremely concerned about the administration’s repeated attacks on some of the most vulnerable communities, and in particular, children and pregnant women as it relates to the world of DHS,” she said of illegal aliens at the start of her opening statement during a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Tuesday.
Nielsen denied that she had been asked to separate illegal alien parents from their children as a method of deterrence. “My decision has been that anyone who breaks the law will be prosecuted,” she said. “If you’re a parent or you’re a single person or you happen to have a family, if you cross between the ports of entry, we will refer you for prosecution. You’ve broken U.S. law.”
It’s truly as simple as that. If you break the law, you will be prosecuted. We prosecute U.S. citizens every day, no matter if they have children they might be taken away from or not; they committed a crime and they should be dealt with. You can’t let someone off just because they have a family — that would be absolutely absurd.
However, when an illegal alien is arrested crossing the border with a child, Harris said she worries that “they will be separated from their parent.” Nielsen then reminded the misguided senator that U.S. citizen parents are separated every day in the United States when those parents are arrested or sentenced to prison. Nielsen responded, “Just as we do in the United States every day.”
Indeed, every day in the United States, parents go to jail. It’s a sad fact, but you don’t see Democrats like Kamala Harris whining about it. You don’t see them working to institute policies which would strengthen the nuclear family unit. No, their hearts only bleed for illegal aliens; not veterans, not American children, not the citizens of this great nation.
