Recently, NBA superstar LeBron James sparked anger from viewers and fans after several controversial statements. The basketball player ruffled more than a few feathers over a “slave” comment about the NFL and an Anti-Semitic post to Instagram. Soon after, he faced an unpleasant experience. Is Karma rearing its ugly head?

The past few years have been hard for fans of professional sports. Once upon a time, sports fans could escape the drama and hysteria of the news and politics to root for their home team. All that has evaporated, as professional sports have become ground zero for political controversy.

Notable athletes, some top performers in their teams, have used their popularity to spread political activism. I don’t have to tell you how the NFL has been marred by Colin Kaepernick and the numerous other players who disgraced the American Flag.

But it hasn’t been contained to just football. One of the top athletes in the world, LeBron James, has become an outspoken political figure. He’s been noted over his criticism over President Donald Trump. Frequently over the last few years, he’s bashed the Commander in Chief. The athlete can get away with this, thanks to the cooperation of a biased and unprofessional liberal media.

Recently, however, LeBron has expanded his political criticism to other segments of our society. In lockstep with dissidents like Kaepernick, LeBron recently bashed NFL team owners. He called them “old white men” and compared the rich, entitled, spoiled NFL players to slaves.

On his HBO Sports series The Shop, L.A. Lakers forward LeBron James called the NFL’s owners as a bunch of “old white men” and accused them of acting like slave masters…

“In the NFL they got a bunch of old white men owning teams and they got that slave mentality,” James said kicking off the conversation. “And it’s like, ‘This is my team. You do what the f— I tell y’all to do. Or we get rid of y’all.’” [Source: Breitbart]

I guess, in LeBron’s mind, if you’re white and are a boss, you’re automatically a slave-driver. Having the authority to make decisions, because you own the team, doesn’t factor into his bigoted view.

If that wasn’t enough, he got into more trouble when he posted a clip of a rap video to his Instagram. He had to apologize after the lyrics “Jewish money” were seen by millions of people.

NBA star LeBron James apologized on Sunday, for sharing song lyrics on Instagram which contained a reference to getting “Jewish Money.”

The apology comes two days after LeBron raised eyebrows by sharing lyrics from a rapper known as 21 Savage.

The song in question contained an anti-semitic stereotype which said: “We getting that Jewish money, Everything is Kosher.” [Source: Breitbart]

Soon after he insulted every NFL owner, suggesting they were racist, he goes and posts a song that insults the Jewish community.

I guess if you’re a rich, liberal, African American in the U.S., you can blame others for racism and get away with it yourself.

(Remember when Roseanne posted a supposedly racist tweet and lost her job? I guess LeBron can do the same thing–with zero consequences.)

LeBron can’t see the hypocrisy of his stance. He accuses conservatives and the president for bigotry and hate. Yet he can be a fan of a rapper that so casually spreads Anti-Semitic ideas in his music. Hey, how many young impressionable, African American kids follow LeBron on Instagram?

And they all saw him endorse a rapper that spreads racism and hate. How nice.

It looks like his bad actions have caught up with LeBron. At least from a karmic point of view. While playing on Christmas day, the famed athlete suffered a groin injury, taking him out of the game.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James left the team’s Christmas game against the Golden State Warriors about midway through the third quarter Tuesday evening, with what was said to be a groin strain, according to reports.

Video showed James grimacing in pain as he fell to the floor at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., while struggling to regain control of the ball while driving toward the basket.

James appeared on video mouthing the words, “I felt a pop.” L.A. coach Luke Walton said after the game that James would undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the severity of what he said was a strained left groin, ESPN reported in a Twitter message. [Source: Fox News]

LeBron tried to write off the injury, making it seem like no big deal. Apparently, he thinks he’s superhuman and shouldn’t get hurt.

“It’s pretty rare for me to have an injury, period,” he told the Associated Press…

“With me with injuries, I’m never too concerned about them.  I was able to walk off on my own power. I felt a pop, see if I could stretch it a few times, see if it would relieve but it didn’t. … I did a couple exercises to see if I could continue to go but I didn’t feel like it would benefit my team or me. So I came back and got a jump-start on the rehab.” [Source: Fox News]

Yeah, his main concern is his team. Because without him, you know, they’re hopeless. Oh, except they won the game — without him.

Looks like his team was more concerned over the injury than he was. Not being allowed back to play suggests some worse than just a pop.

It’s possible the athlete will be able to recover quickly. But maybe this is a sign he should focus more on his performance on the court, rather than his politicking off the court.

Far too many athletes think they can speak for the American people. Just because they can throw a ball doesn’t mean they represent the views and values of the rest of the country. Many young people might look up to LeBron because of his skills, but that does not make him a role model.

Only when an athlete proves his integrity, honesty, and strength of character can he be considered a role model. LeBron seems more like yet another liberal shill, who uses his fame to push politics. Sad.
