Liberal colleges are breeding-grounds for close-mindedness, “safe spaces,” and socialist propaganda. But, it also seems like they are taking new measures to censor and control the people who apply for their schools. A student recently learned this the hard way, after a major college rejected him.
We’ve known for a long time that American colleges make students dumber than when they entered. Major universities are centers for toxic, liberal thought. Many people become liberal after being brainwashed during their college years. Impressionable people — still learning about life and politics — are bamboozled in school.
Instead of simply learning what they need to know for their careers, they are forced to swallow liberal dogma. This has been going on largely since the 1960’s. Today, things are much worse. Major colleges across the country are programming students to reject free thought.
Colleges embrace “safe spaces,” places student can go to hide from ideas that scare them. Teachers are required to issue trigger warnings when discussing important issues. That way, a student won’t be surprised when they talk about things like history, science, and facts.
Most colleges are run by unhinged leftists. They employ faculty who embrace the most extreme versions of liberalism and Marxism. We’ve seen, in recent months, how nasty feminists can insult great Americans (like the late Barbara Bush) and not even be punished.
It all amounts to an incredible amount of persecution to anyone who thinks differently on a college campus. Students who dare disagree with their teachers are ostracized, bullied, and in some cases expelled. Conservatives on college campuses are routinely abused. They are treated as second-class citizens, or worse.
Despite all this, conservatives still fight back. They hold meetings, spread their ideas, and invite popular conservatives to speak. College leaders don’t like this. In fact, they are now taking steps to make sure conservatives don’t even get into their schools.
How are they doing this? By investigating applicants’ social media accounts to see who they follow. If you are a student and you follow a conservative online, you might not be rejected. Just take this account from attorney Bradly Shear:
While one of my legal clients (a 17 year old teen) was being interviewed by one of the most competitive colleges in the country he was asked why he was following Alex Jones on Twitter. My client, a teenager expected to talk about his stellar grades, top test scores, amazing extracurricular activities and volunteer work, but the interviewer focused on who he was connecting with online. My client had never “liked” or re-tweeted any of Mr. Jones’ content. His alleged “transgression” was that he followed Mr. Jones on Twitter. That was it.
Subsequently, the student’s parents engaged me about this troubling situation. Immediately, I performed a digital background check on the admissions interviewer and found her to be a Bernie Sanders follower. Interestingly, Mr. Jones’ is not a big fan of Mr. Sanders…
This example demonstrates why teens need to not just audit their digital profiles and lock down their social media accounts during the college application process, they must also ensure that their web surfing history is not collected by an admissions committee because innocent digital activity is being used to reject students from their dream colleges. A teen’s web search history may include topics such as politics, religion, health status, creed, etc. According to The New York Times, some colleges are trying to buy these data points from the organizations that provide the SAT or ACT who obtain this data directly from student test takers. Insane, right? In the case of this one student, Shear was able to put pressure on the school and the situation was resolved.
But, let me ask you this: Why should a teenager have to hire a lawyer to stop being discriminated against? Why does a prospective student have to fear that some unhinged liberal will sabotage their future, just because they follow Alex Jones (or anyone else online)?
This is more than just an isolated incident. Major universities want to “sterilize” their student bodies. They are terrified that groups like TurningPoint USA are having an impact. The biggest goal of liberal schools is to turn as many students as possible into brain-dead leftists. But, if there are smart, knowledgeable students with opposing views on campus, that goal is in jeopardy.
So, they want to cut it off at the source: by sniffing out potential conservatives before they even enter school.
Can you imagine the level of intrusion this requires? Liberals on school staffs are now invading applicant’s privacy. They aren’t just spying on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. Schools are trying to buy your internet history to determine if you’re a conservative.
It’s common knowledge that Google stores your search history. If you use Google Chrome (Google’s web browser), they know where you’ve been, even if you don’t search. We know that universities are trying to acquire that information. If they don’t like what you (or your child) has been viewing online, their application might be rejected.
Many college admissions offices such as Harvard are encouraging anyone who has “digital dirt” on an applicant or accepted student to send it to the admissions department so they can reject an applicant or revoke an offer. This happens regularly and finally made international headlines last year when Harvard revoked offers to at least 10 applicants based up their digital footprint. What is more troubling is that Harvard has lobbied for years against a social media privacy law for applicants that would ban colleges in Massachusetts from being able to request applicants verify their digital accounts and activities which may indicate their political or personal opinions. Discrimination is alive and well. But, it’s not discrimination against a person’s race. It’s discrimination based on your beliefs. If you are a conservative — either politically or because of your religion — Harvard and other top schools could reject you.
How long before this goes beyond colleges? How many companies are trying to purge conservatives from their offices? What about government agencies like the IRS, which persecuted Tea Party groups under Barack Obama? Maybe banks will deny your business or loans because they know you support Donald Trump. Now is the time to take a stand, before it’s too late.
