State and federal law enforcement agencies are on high alert today after a suspect the FBI labeled as “extremely dangerous” stole several firearms from a Janesville, Wisconsin, gun store. The culprit, who is believed to be plotting an act of mass violence, also sent a chilling manifesto to President Donald Trump, leading to a nationwide manhunt for him to be apprehended.
The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone who can lead them to the whereabouts of Joseph Jakubowski, 32, who stole 16 “high-end” firearms from a gun shop on Tuesday night. Among the weapons stolen were two assault rifles, several handguns, and silencers, according to Western Journalism. Nearly half an hour after the theft, a vehicle registered to Jakubowski was found engulfed in flames miles away. It is not known if he is still in the Rock County area or even the state of Wisconsin.
Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Jakubowski is accused of taking a large quantity of handguns and rifles from a gun shop Tuesday night in Janesville, about 70 miles southwest of Milwaukee. Authorities say he has acquired a bulletproof vest and helmet. A burned vehicle registered to him was found near the store.
Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said Saturday that investigators have responded to about 200 leads and are pursuing about 70 of them. [Source: Fox News]
Jakubowski also sent a 161-page manifesto to President Trump, leading the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabacco, & Firearms, and the Secret Service to become involved in the case, which has now threatened the life of the president. “Basically, he’s angry at all government officials,” Sheriff Spoden said at a press conference. “Whether it’s the president or local officials or whether it’s law enforcement. He basically has a dislike for anyone that has authority or governmental power. We consider him to be armed and highly dangerous.”
“When you look at his document that he wrote, it’s really a long list of injustices he believes the government and society and the upper class have put forward onto the rest of the citizens, so there’s really nothing specific where he’s saying, ‘I was wronged in this way’ or ‘I was wronged in that way,'” Sheriff Spoden said. “It’s just an overview that he feels that government and law enforcement, in particular, are acting as terrorists and enslaving the people and creating this environment that he finds unacceptable.”
In communications prior to his disappearance, Jakubowski also allegedly made reference to his dying by the hand of Trump and expressed a desire to save everyone by taking out one politician at a time.
Wisconsin authorities are working with the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Secret Service to find Jakubowski, who has been missing since Tuesday — the same day he allegedly mailed the manifesto, burglarized the gun shop and set his car on fire, the law enforcement source said.
