After a divorce hearing, a man began beating his ex-wife on a seemingly abandoned sidewalk. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t realize he was about to receive the most satisfying dose of instant justice imaginable.
The more Islamic a nation becomes, the further from freedom and toward religious and political tyranny it moves. Despite this innate difference in Sharia regimes and Western democracies, the left ignorantly maintains that Islamic values are compatible with our own.
Along with sweeping oppression, increasing violence plagues Islamic countries, nearly all of which is justified by their own religious texts. Fortunately, even in these totalitarian regimes, there are still decent human beings who reject the medieval invocations of the Quran.
After a divorce hearing at the Istanbul Court of Justice in Turkey’s Kağıthane district on May 30, a man, identified as Mehmet T., was apparently outraged by his now ex-wife. CCTV footage captured the man repeatedly striking the woman with what appears to be a stack of rolled papers as she finally collapses to the ground and cries out for help, according to The Sun.
Because domestic violence is not only sanctioned under Sharia law but frankly commanded in the Quran, Mehmet likely didn’t expect anyone to infringe upon his religious right to beat the woman in broad daylight. Thankfully, the cowardly thug was sorely mistaken.
As the video shows, Mehmet prepares to once again hit the woman, only to have his plans cut short by a gang of passersby. With his fist poised to strike, Mehmet is swiftly tackled from behind by an unknown hero, who slams him into the sidewalk with the full weight of his body.
The highlight of the comeuppance occurs after the crowd quickly grows around Mehmet. At first, the wife-beater is allowed to stand up unimpeded. It is then that the same hero who took down Mehmet grabs him by the collar and headbutts him, sending the violent thug to the ground once again where he writhes in pain before seemingly passing out.
Mehmet T. was later arrested by local police.
Like clockwork, the mainstream media resorted to damage control, painting the male witnesses as mouthpieces for “moderate Islam.”
“The woman was crying for help so the citizens helped her. We are all against violence,” one eyewitness, Mehmet Kaya, reportedly said.
Another passer-by said: “It was terrifying. The woman was yelling the place down. She was trying to protect herself. This kind of violence in unacceptable.”
However, as the Daily Star confirmed, the mainstream outlets selectively published comments from the aforementioned witnesses. In fact, as the report indicates, a crucial part of the second witness’ statement was completely omitted.
Witness Mehmet Kaya, told Cumhuriyet: “A passer-by ran at the man who was beating his wife. The citizens then held down the man who was attacking her. It is very shameful.”
Another witness, Ayşe Atasoy, said: “We went out and the woman was screaming and she was trying to protect herself. It is not acceptable to have such violence during Ramadan.”
When Atasoy’s comment is published in full, we see the context for his opposition to the violence. This addendum echoes the Quran’s call for violence “when the sacred months have passed.”
As Islamic culture brazenly displays, violence against women is not only culturally acceptable, it’s religiously engrained. The Quran commands men to beat their wives if they so much as suspect arrogance.
Quran (4:34) – “Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them.”
Appallingly, the Quran teaches that if domestic violence doesn’t work, the husband has justification for divorce and seeking a “better” wife — one who is completely obedient.
Quran (66:5) – “Maybe, his Lord, if he divorce you, will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, adorers, fasters, widows and virgins.”
Islamic countries are violent and oppressive and have been for over a millennium because Islam is inherently violent and oppressive. It is incompatible with any other system of values or laws because its own religious and political fundamentals directly oppose such dereliction.
