While driving down a country road, one horrified driver captured footage of what a motorist had strapped to the back of his minivan — and it’s causing international outrage.
As the West imports millions of Muslims, it becomes aware of the oppression that Islamic nations have perpetuated for over a millennium. Of course, these atrocities are commonplace and often accepted by those living under Sharia law, which is likely the reason that Westerners are so taken aback when they witness these compulsions so casually enacted.
Perhaps the most notorious of Islamic culture is its treatment of women. Regarded by the Quran as property, women are to remain in the home and fully capitulate to their male relatives. If these commands are violated, men are commanded to physically abuse their chattel as a means of beating them into submission.
Just north of Ankara in Turkey, motorists were shocked when they spotted a Muslim driver speeding down a country road with strange cargo strapped to the rear of his minivan — his burqa-clad 13-year-old daughter. According to the Daily Mail, the father, identified only as Idris K., had used straps to secure his teen daughter to the bike rack of his vehicle before casually taking off down the road with the young girl in tow.
The startling footage captures the child staring listlessly off to the side of the road as her father carelessly drives along, placing the young girl in grave danger.

Perhaps even more disturbing than seeing the veiled child bound to the back of the moving vehicle was the family’s response to the criminal act. Although Idris K. has since been arrested, his son attempted to trivialize the incident, blaming his young sister for convincing his father to tie her up and drive her down the public road, according to the Herald Sun.
The girl’s older brother told Turkish news outlet Andalou that his sister “enjoyed” riding on the bike rack and was not tied up against her will.
“My father wanted to make her happy,” the 22-year-old said. “It was not something forced upon her. He drove at 20 kilometres per hour at most and drove only about 700 metres with my sister at the back.”
The father justified his actions, according to police, explaining that the child was in no real danger since the bike rack could support over 300 pounds. Additionally, the father claimed that he only drove a short distance with the girl in tow. However, the eyewitness who filmed the encounter revealed that the vehicle traveled nearly a quarter of a mile alone in the time he followed it.
The Turkish police quickly identified the man via his vehicle tags and brought the driver into custody. It is unclear what charges he faces, although many speculate that he is guilty of child endangerment and should have his child removed from his care.
While the civilized world would easily condemn this action, the father has every religious motivation to justify his treatment of his daughter.
According to the Quran, women are not only inferior to men, they are subsequently at the mercy of the wishes of their male counterparts. If a man even suspects that a woman might disobey, he is endowed with the religious right to beat her.
Quran (4:34) – “Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them.”
Of course, the prophet Muhammad modeled this misogyny by advising a woman who was beaten by her husband to return and obey him, as recorded in Sahih Bukhari (72:715), despite the plea of his own child bride to help the woman.
Islam not only advocates for the oppression of women, it compels harsh and inhumane punishments for women who do not conform to this subjugation. Therefore, in order to oppose this treatment of women, one must oppose the very fundamentals of Islam.
