Nancy Pelosi was slurring her words as she addressed the Christian Colleges and Universities Conference in Washington, DC. The Speaker of the House was trying to make the point that according to God, the president is all wrong about illegal aliens and building the wall. “We are all God’s children including our immigrants at the border,” the 78-year-old slurred. Well, Christian theologians destroyed her. You’ll love this.
Nancy Pelosi has quite the reputation among conservative pundits for her half-baked ramblings. Some politely say her blood sugar must be low. Yet, the mainstream media refuses to point out that the House Leader often has issues articulating her words and many times appears to be in an altered state.
But not actor James Woods who just yesterday said she was “drunk as a skunk” as she butchered addressing the press corps on her refusal to approve any money for the border wall. Now, Christian pastors and theologians are scrutinizing the Speaker’s claims as she slurred her words to the Christian Colleges and Universities Conference.
“And I can’t find it in the Bible, but I quote it all the time and I keep reading and reading the Bible,” Pelosi said. “I know it’s there someplace. It’s supposed to be in Isaiah. But I heard a bishop say, ‘To minister to the needs of God’s creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God made us.’ It’s there somewhere in some words or another, but certainly, the spirit of it is there.”
This isn’t the first time the California Democrat has used this quote as a hammer to prove God is on her side. The House Speaker used the phrase on April 21, 2018, during an Earth Day press release. Whitworth University associate professor of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament Will Kynes said the verse does not exist, according to Slate.
The closest version was found in Proverbs 14:31, he said. Greg MaGee, a Taylor University associate professor, also said the verse from Proverbs is the closest to Pelosi’s. And according to Relevant Magazine, Pelosi has a long history of misquoting the Bible. The verse, which Pelosi is first recorded quoting in 2002, does not appear in the Bible and there is no record of a Bishop quoting the Godly sentiment.
Between 2002 and 2018, the quote appears 12 times in the Congressional Record, with Pelosi responsible for all but one of the entries, Slate Magazine reports:
She has deployed it in speeches to recognize genocide in Darfur (“to ignore God’s creation, which are these children, is to dishonor the God who made them”), to strengthen the Endangered Species Act (“to minister to the needs of God’s creation, and that includes our beautiful environment”), twice to honor Catholic schools (“my Catholic education taught me that to minister to the needs of God’s creation”), and to express condolences after the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia (“it is appropriate on many occasions, but I thought of it the minute I saw the tsunami”).
The Slate reporter noted that the only “pushback” Pelosi has received for her imaginary scripture was more than a decade ago on a few conservative websites, and someone at one of them “called around to some Bible scholars to confirm that the line didn’t come from the Bible.”
The Slate reporter softened her criticism of Pelosi by claiming that her speech to the Christian leaders seemed to come the closest to her admitting she is making up her biblical wisdom. “Pelosi’s hemming and hawing in her speech this week suggests that she’s aware by now that she has it wrong,” Slate concluded.
Well, this is rich coming from the far-leftist Slate Magazine, and it must make Pelosi livid. And there’s nothing biblical about ripping open a nation’s border doors and letting in anyone and everyone who cites a need. In fact, the Bible teaches the opposite. The Bible teaches God established borders. God established languages. God established specific lands for His select people.
God established borders at the Tower of Babel, described in Genesis as man’s attempt to build into the heavens. God created the differing languages, “so they will not understand each other,” and scattered them across the world.
God’s plan was to have different cultures and languages which flies in the face of the leftist globalist agenda. God does not require us to destroy our own country by having open borders and allowing anyone and everyone who wants to come in. In fact, the Lord would see that as bad stewardship of all He has given us.
The new socialists of the hard left that have taken to using the Bible as a means of obtaining political chips and scoring partisan points will fight tooth and nail to make it seem as if Christians who want to protect America’s sovereignty and maintain a secure country are violating God’s will.
But this is hogwash. They’re deceivers, wolves in sheep clothing. And they’re offensive to the truth. Make sure your family and friends know nothing is sacred to Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic snakes. They have no honor and speak with forked tongues. They have no fear of God because they worship the world and are content to do Satan’s dirty work.
