You will be held accountable.” Well, that’s when the president dropped a megaton bomb on Pelosi, making it crystal clear he won’t be threatened and proving it’s the Democrats who are the lawless ones. You’ll love this.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi responded Tuesday to President Donald Trump’s refusal to cooperate with an impeachment inquiry sparked by a so-called “whistleblower” complaint, stating: “Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable.”
“For a while, the President has tried to normalize lawlessness. Now, he is trying to make lawlessness a virtue,” Pelosi’s statement read. “The White House letter is only the latest attempt to cover up his betrayal of our democracy, and to insist that the President is above the law.”
“This letter is manifestly wrong and is simply another unlawful attempt to hide the facts of the Trump Administration’s brazen efforts to pressure foreign powers to intervene in the 2020 elections. Despite the White House’s stonewalling, we see a growing body of evidence that shows that President Trump abused his office and violated his oath to ‘protect, preserve and defend the Constitution,’” it added. “Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable.”
What is this letter that caused Pelosi to freak out?
It is a scathing legal response outlining point by point why this so-called impeachment inquiry is un-Constitutional and the president has a duty to protect the Executive branch from such travesty that may set a dangerous precedent. It was written by GOP Rep. David Cicilline and delivered to the Democrats and the media yesterday afternoon.
“The effort to impeach President Trump—without regard to any evidence of his actions in office is a naked political strategy that began the day he was inaugurated, and perhaps even before. In fact, your transparent rush to judgment, lack of democratically accountable authorization, and violation of basic rights in the current proceedings make clear the illegitimate, partisan purpose of this purported ‘impeachment inquiry,'” the damning letter states.
“The Founders, however, did not create the extraordinary mechanism of impeachment so it could be used by a political party that feared for its prospects against the sitting President in the next election. The decision as to who will be elected President in 2020 should rest with the people of the United States, exactly where the Constitution places it,” Cicilline adds.
“Given that your inquiry lacks any legitimate constitutional foundation, any pretense of fairness, or even the most elementary due process protections, the Executive Branch cannot be expected to participate in it,” the letter reads. “Because participating in this inquiry under the current unconstitutional posture would inflict lasting institutional harm on the Executive Branch and lasting damage to the separation of powers, you have the President no choice.”
“Consistent with the duties of the President of the United States, and in particular his obligation to preserve the rights of future occupants of his office, President Trump cannot permit his Administration to participate in this partisan inquiry under these circumstances,” it adds.
But that’s not all. It was also announced Trey Gowdy has just joined Trump’s legal team.
Gowdy joining the president’s legal team is part of the double whammy inflicted on Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff yesterday afternoon. In fact, the Democrats were so scared of the addition of Gowdy, they started to report it was not true.
“Though initial reports claimed that Gowdy had declined an invite from the White House to participate in the president’s defense, the former GOP representative of South Carolina is now on board to assist,” Washington Examiner reports.
Then, it went from bad to worse for Pelosi when new information came out about the so-called whistleblower.
“Under questioning from Republicans during last Friday’s impeachment inquiry interview with Atkinson, the inspector general revealed that the whistleblower’s possible bias was not that he was simply a registered Democrat. It was that he had a significant tie to one of the Democratic presidential candidates currently vying to challenge President Trump in next year’s election,” Washington Examiner’s Bryon York reports.
So, this so-called whistleblower has ties to one of the 2020 Democrat candidates? Could this scam get any more corrupt? Americans sounded off on Twitter over this bombshell development.

The Democrats refuse to follow the legal process. Part of Pelosi’s scheme is engaging in this fake impeachment without a real vote because it leaves the GOP without subpoena power. If Pelosi followed the legal process and started impeachment with a vote, then the GOP could subpoena this so-called whistleblower and other witnesses immediately.
“The Supreme Court has recognized that due process protections apply to all congressional investigations. Indeed, it has been recognized that the Due Process Clause applies to impeachment proceedings. And precedent for the rights to cross-examine witnesses, call witnesses, and present evidence dates back nearly 150 years. Yet the Committees have decided to deny the President these elementary rights and protections that form the basis of the American justice system and are protected by the Constitution. No citizen-including the President-should be treated this unfairly,” Rep. Cicilline declares.
This makes the Mueller witch hunt look like child’s play. The Democrats are doing what they do best: lying, obstructing justice, and playing dirty. Every single American regardless of their political party should be irate they are trampling on the Constitution. It should also be a huge warning that the Democrat Party is now the party that would make dictators like Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin proud.
