Although the left claims to be an ally to both the LGBT community and Muslims, they’ve discovered that playing identity politics is dangerous after a lesbian couple decided to kiss in a devout Muslim uber driver’s car.
In the left’s world, everyone can be neatly divided up into tribes and subsequently ranked based on oppression by the patriarchy — that is, white males. Unfortunately, what the left doesn’t understand is that these groups are intrinsically different and many hold opposing values and cultures.
In their identity politics, two of the groups that liberals have deemed the most oppressed are the LGBT community and the Muslim community. In their effort to champion both communities’ rights, the left has lumped these tribes together simply because they believe they hold the commonality of being minorities. However, as the Muslim population grows, progressives are discovering that some of their oppressed minorities are actually oppressors of the other groups.
On June 9, 24-year-old Emma Pichl and her girlfriend of 2 years, 26-year-old Alex Iovine, got into an Uber cab on their way home from a friend’s birthday party in New York City. While sitting in the back seat, the pair leaned over and kissed as Western couples typically do. What they soon realized is that their driver is a devout Muslim who was about to show they just how tolerant and peaceful his religion is toward homosexuals.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Uber driver, identified as 35-year-old Ahmad Elboutari, pulled over and demanded that the young women get out of his vehicle and stop displaying any sign of affection because it was “disrespectful.” The Muslim man kicked the women out of his car without issuing a refund, despite the fact that they had already paid for a full trip.
Tough experience yesterday. Help spread the word about this Uber driver.

“We got over the Manhattan Bridge into the city. We were sitting on opposite sides of the backseat. At one point we leaned over and pecked kiss, very fast,” Pichl told The Post on Monday.
Five minutes later, according to Pichl, the driver “pulled the cab over and said, ‘You should not do that … do not do that.’”
“And then he opened the car doors,” Pichl said. “I thought he was kidding and then Alex said, ‘I don’t think he is.’”
In what’s being condemned as an act of discrimination and homophobia, the video provides evidence that Boutari did kick the girls out of his vehicle because of their sexual identity and most likely his religious ideology.
“It’s illegal,” the driver said after Iovine asks him why he’s putting them out. “You can’t do this in the car. You aren’t allowed to do this.”
“Why are we not allowed to kiss in an Uber?” Iovine asks.
“It’s disrespectful,” the livery driver says in the video.
Moments later, Boutari assaulted Iovine by grabbing her arm in an attempt to snatch her phone out of her hand after he discovered she was recording. She then threatens to report Boutari and get him “fired,” to which he replies, “I don’t care.” Elboutari later admitted that he did discriminate against the women because of their sexual identity.
“I don’t give a s–t about them. I did what I believe is my freedom,” he said.
“It’s my own car. I didn’t feel comfortable with them,” Elbotari said. The driver said he asked them to stop kissing and lower the volume on their phones. Elbotari said he would do the same for a straight couple, but acknowledged he has less tolerance for a same-sex couple.
Uber, which has consistently gained international media attention for repeated controversies involving its drivers, many of them Muslims, has issued an apology to the women and promised to refund their payment. The company stated that the incident was also reported by the driver and that they have launched an investigation into the discriminatory act.
Iovine has not only filed a complaint with Uber but also New York City’s Human Rights Commission, landing the company in hot water with what’s likely to be another major lawsuit in the near future.
Emma Pichl and Alex Iovine’s admit that they are shocked by the discriminatory behavior. Their reaction proves two things: that they are not as victimized by the Christian majority as the left claims and that they are disturbingly ignorant of Islam’s treatment of homosexuals.
The Quran and hadith are clear in how gays are to be treated, and it involves discrimination, abuse, and execution.
Quran (26:165-166) – “Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, “And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing.”
Quran (4:16) – “If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, Leave them alone.”
Of course, the prophet Muhammad and his allies showcased how the “people of Loot” (homosexuals) should be punished.
Abu Dawud (4462) – The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”
Abu Dawud (4448) – “If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy, he will be stoned to death.”
Sahih Bukhari (72:774) – “The Prophet cursed effeminate men (those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, ‘Turn them out of your houses .’ The Prophet turned out such-and-such man, and ‘Umar turned out such-and-such woman.”
It is undeniably Islam’s teaching that homosexuals are to be executed for their sexual crimes, yet the left and the LGBT community condemns the Christian minority only for believing that the behavior is sinful. They have demonized Christians, fear-mongering homosexuals to attack their religious beliefs while subsequently ignoring Islam’s violent and oppressive commands and laws.
Of course, the left must choose one group when they clash, and they are choosing Islam. What they fail to foresee is that their Islamic pet is growing in both number and power, and, once it reaches maturity, it will turn on its master.
