The Associated Press has reported that the Minnesota Congresswoman filed a joint tax return with one man while being legally married to another. Now, she is in hot water as she ignores requests for her tax returns. But what’s making matter worse is the Democrat’s criminal past is coming back to haunt her. Don’t miss this.
The Associated Press (AP) has confirmed that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) filed a joint tax return with one man while being legally married to another — and adds that she has ignored requests to release her tax returns.
This brought up a slew of issues regarding her marriages which she refuses to clear up.
“She has also been dogged by conservatives who have raised questions about her past. She came to the United States as a refugee from war-torn Somalia,” reports the AP. “In 2016, as Omar was running for a seat in the Minnesota House, conservative bloggers alleged she was married to two men at the same time. Conservatives also alleged that one of those men, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, was her brother — allegations that Omar called ‘disgusting lies.”‘
Respected journalist Michelle Malkin also brought up Omar’s strange marriages in a piece she wrote:
Investigations dating back to 2016 by blogger Scott Johnson of Power Line (which recently celebrated 15 years in the blogosphere), David North of the Center for Immigration Studies, Alpha News reporter Preya Samsundar and PJMedia.com reporter David Steinberg have determined that the outspoken Somalian Muslim [Omar] refugee likely married her own brother named Ahmed Elmi in 2009 for some unknown ill-gotten gain while still informally married to the man she calls her husband and father of her three children, Ahmed Hirsi. After a Somalian website floated questions about the marriage arrangement with Elmi and Johnson’s initial reporting broke into the local news, Omar sought to divorce Elmi. Her use of $6,000 in state campaign funds, some of which went to pay a personal divorce lawyer, is currently under state investigation.
Ironically, it was the controversial Congresswoman who joined Democrats in demanding that President Donald Trump release his tax returns, even claiming — oddly — that he had to do so because it was “required by law.”

It’s not far-fetched to say Ilhan Omar would knowingly break the law. She has a record with the Minneapolis Police Department. Back in 2013, Omar was arrested for trespassing, which may sound like a big nothing-burger, but when you look into the police officers’ accounts of the event, it shows a disturbed woman who the arresting officers described as a habitual criminal.
The incident took place on January 18, 2013, following an event at the Minneapolis Convention Center featuring former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The Somali president was set to stay the night at the Hotel Ivy, causing large groups of Somalis to follow the presidential convoy to the hotel, including Omar.
According to the police report, hotel staff requested police assistance in clearing the lobby, saying that anyone without a hotel room key was not welcome on the premises and needed to leave immediately. The officer handling the incident said the majority of people who were asked to leave were compliant. However, Omar, when approached, was “argumentative” and refused to leave.
“As she stood her ground and refused to leave, I took hold of her left elbow to escort her from the lobby. Omar then pulled away from me stating, ‘Don’t put your hands on me!’ Others in her group complied and began walking toward the front entry/exit door as I ordered and I managed to coax Omar out with them,” the police report reads.
Ten minutes after the original encounter, the officer reports finding Omar seated in a different area of the lobby. According to the officer’s account, Omar “remained defiant” and continued to “argue” as he informed her that she would be arrested for trespassing if she didn’t leave.
Since she refused to comply with orders, the officer arrested Omar. The officer told her to stand, and she refused several times. The officer then reached for Omar’s left arm to get her to stand so she could be handcuffed, but she pulled away, once again. The officer handcuffed her while she stayed seated in the hotel lobby chair.
“Omar was booked at [Hennepin County Jail] as I felt it was likely that she would fail to respond to a citation and she also demonstrated that she was going to continue her criminal behavior,” the officer wrote.
Now, Omar is facing hard questions after she was found guilty of campaign finance violations. That investigation exposed her potential tax fraud and is putting a spotlight on her two marriages. She must be really regretting she ever dipped into her campaign funds illegally as it has led to exposing her dirty deeds she has been trying to bury for years.
