The DHS Chief is now calling the border crisis a “system-wide meltdown” in a letter she wrote to Congress begging them to act. Just last month, DHS apprehended 100,000 migrants attempting to enter our country illegally, and with the warm weather, it will only get worse. Nancy Pelosi is playing games, leaving the president with just one option. Don’t miss this.
The border crisis is now so out of control DHS Secretary Nielsen is warning Congress with an “urgent request” for assistance in stemming what she described as a tide of migrants overwhelming the border. Nielsen wrote that the agency faces a “system-wide meltdown.”
“DHS facilities are overflowing, agents and officers are stretched too thin, and the magnitude of arriving and detained aliens has increased the risk of life-threatening incidents,” Nielsen wrote, citing increased numbers of migrants arriving per month in large groups.
Nielsen wrote that her “greatest concern was for the children,” as Customs and Border Protection currently has over 1,200 unaccompanied children in custody. Making matter worse, the dimwitted Democrats “reasoned that capping Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s detention beds would force the administration to narrow its ramped-up deportation efforts,” CBS News reports.
The latest fiasco by Nancy Pelosi is this notion that President Donald Trump is intentionally causing the migrants to sleep under bridges in El Paso and calling them “concentration camps.” Washington Post reporter Nick Miroff stirred controversy with this tweet: “This is El Paso right now, where hundreds of migrant families are being held in the parking lot of a Border Patrol station because there is no room for them inside, or anywhere else.”

Yet it was at Pelosi’s urging that the Democrats voted to cap the number of beds at the detention centers. So who is to blame? Regardless, Secretary Nielsen issued her dire warning that our Southern border is about to be overrun. It’s such a disaster that even Barack Obama sycophant Jeh Johnson, who headed Homeland Security for the former president, had to admit we have a national emergency.
“By any measure 4,000 apprehensions on our southern border in one day, 100,000 in a month, is a crisis,” he said during an interview Monday on Fox News. America now faces being over-run by one million migrants by the year’s end.
“It’s not that border control has been tried and failed; it hasn’t been tried,” writes Rich Lowry for National Review. “Thanks to court decrees and congressional enactments, we don’t permit ourselves to quickly return minors from Central American countries, or to detain them for any significant period of time. They get released, along with the adults accompanying them.”
And that is one of the big problems Congress could fix, yet Pelosi sits on her hands and complains about Trump and racism. Nielsen asked that Congress grant more authority to DHS to return unaccompanied migrant children from Central America to their countries, saying that putting these minors in the custody of sponsors in the U.S. becomes a “pull” factor for more migrants to make the trip north.
Secretary Nielsen has made it crystal clear: we must act now. But, with Nancy Pelosi playing games, it’s left up to President Trump. Politically, this is a hot potato. No matter what action Trump takes, he will be damned from the fallout. And that is why Pelosi and her cohorts who should be working to fix this problem are doing nothing but making it worse.
Most conservatives and Trump supporters agree, Trump has one option and that is to close the Southern border. “Mexico must use its very strong immigration laws to stop the many thousands of people trying to get into the USA. Our detention areas are maxed out & we will take no more illegals. Next step is to close the Border! This will also help us with stopping the Drug flow from Mexico!” tweeted the president.
Over the weekend, the Trump Administration further pushed its threat to fully close the U.S.-Mexico border amid the unprecedented migrant crisis transpiring there. This was before we had Nielsen’s dire warning. “If they don’t stop [the migrant influx], we are closing the border. We’ll close it. And we’ll keep it closed for a long time. I’m not playing games,” Trump said Friday, according to The Washington Post.
Many Americans are not aware the Southern border is now such a dire situation with DHS calling it a “system-wide meltdown.” Make sure all your family and friends know we are facing an invasion force down South that rivals any humanitarian crisis sparked by a war in the past.
In essence, we are at war to protect our Southern border. We cannot allow one million migrants to enter our nation unencumbered. President Trump has no choice but to close the Southern border until Congress gives DHS the tools they need to adequately protect the border.
