Blaming the partial government shutdown, the Speaker of the House sent a letter to the White House claiming due to “security concerns” the State of the Union speech slated for January 29th should be canceled. Pelosi must pass legislation for the SOTU to occur, and she is desperate Trump doesn’t make that speech. That’s when the Secret Service made Nancy pay for her lies. You’ll love this.
Poor Nancy Pelosi is looking like a fool. The 78-year-old House Speaker made her move to stop President Donald Trump from giving the annual State of the Union Speech (SOTU). Pelosi and Chuck Schumer know amidst this government shut down, the last thing they need is for President Trump to have that huge platform to reach the American people.
So what do Pelosi and her cohorts conjure up? Well, the Democratic brain-trust decided to make it all about how dangerous it would be for the Congress along with the usual VIPs to attend the SOTU.
“The U.S. Secret Service was designated as the lead federal agency responsible for coordinating, planning, exercising, and implementing security for National Special Security Events. However, both the U.S. Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security [DHS] have not been funded for 26 days now — with critical departments hamstrung by furloughs,” wrote Pelosi.
“Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th,” claimed the House Speaker in her letter.
However, DHS officials and Secret Service veterans have said that Pelosi is not being truthful and is weaponizing the Secret Service for her own political reasons, the Daily Caller reported. And that brings us to former Secret Service Dan Bongino who is irate that Pelosi is lying her butt off.
Bongino tells The Daily Caller that Pelosi owes the Secret Service an apology and that the shutdown has nothing to do with agency readiness. “The timing of their paychecks will have absolutely ZERO impact on their security plan. If Pelosi thinks the agents are going to put the POTUS in danger because they’ve missed a paycheck then she should find a new line of work,” Bongino said.
“The Secret Service is owed an apology by her for being unnecessarily put in the middle of this. These are patriots, not politicians,” Bongino added. He went on social media to call the Speaker out and to alert Americans that she is full of crap.
“The Secret Service’s security plan for the SOTU will not change due to the partial shutdown. Pelosi knows this and yet she decided to fabricate a story in order to hurt Trump. Pathetic,” tweeted the Fox News contributor. But that’s not all.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen has something to say to the 78-year-old Pelosi about her big lie. Nielsen has been hammered by the far-left Democrats who want to stop funding Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). So she was happy to let Americans know the new Speaker was just caught lying to the nation.
“The Department of Homeland Security and the US Secret Service are fully prepared to support and secure the State of the Union. We thank the Service for their mission focus and dedication and for all they do each day to secure our homeland,” tweeted Nielsen.

This caused the mainstream media to freak out. NBC decided to ask Secret Service agents themselves. NBC reporter Kelly O’Donnell reported what she found out.

God bless the Secret Service agents who are willing and ready to protect President Donald Trump so he can address the nation at this very important time. And poor Nancy Pelosi looks like an utter fool who tried to dupe the American people, and it backfired big time.
