On Monday, President Donald Trump welcomed the Clemson Tigers to the White House to celebrate their win against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship game one week ago. When the eager college football players arrived, he had a special surprise waiting for them.

With the partial government shutdown now in its fourth week, the Clemson Tigers traveled to the White House on Monday to celebrate their National Championship win. A week ago, the Tigers dominated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship game, winning by an impressive 44-16.

President Trump wanted to make the team’s White House visit fun and memorable for the college football players, even though much of the White House staff is currently furloughed, and he found the perfect way to do so.

With little kitchen staff to speak of, Trump decided to pick up the tab for the entire football team to indulge in some of their favorite fast foods so the players and the president could kick back and enjoy a relaxed meal and visit together. They dined on some of the more popular menu items from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King. Trump even bought several pizzas to make sure everyone was able to eat their fill.

“The President wanted to host a fun event to celebrate the College Football National Champion Clemson Tigers,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement. “Because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security, much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed – so the President is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone’s favorite fast foods.”

Despite being one of the most famous billionaires in the world, President Trump is a fast food lover himself. In fact, his McDonald’s order is more than most people can handle. But, of course, Donald Trump isn’t most people:

Could you handle President Trump’s McDonald’s Order? Some people can, some people can’t. Daily Caller reporters Amber Athey and Justin Caruso tried to consume the huge meal, and the results were pretty insane.

The order consists of two Big Mac sandwiches, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and a large chocolate shake. This food would be too much for the average man, but our president isn’t built like most men.

“If it’s American, I like it. It’s all American stuff,” Trump said of the various fast food items he had laid out for the Clemson players on Monday. “But it’s good stuff and we have the national champion team, as you know, Clemson Tigers. And they had a fantastic game against Alabama and they’re all here. They’re right outside the room and I think we’re going to let you see them,” he told reporters.

“But I’ll bet you, as much food as we have — we have pizzas, we have 300 hamburgers, many, many french fries, all of our favorite foods. I want to see what’s here when we leave, because I don’t think it’s going to be much,” the president joked.

You’ve got to love it when the most powerful man in the world isn’t too proud to chow down on some cheeseburgers and french fries with a bunch of college football players. Trump is truly a man of the people, which is why he is so beloved by everyday Americans from all walks of life. He may be a billionaire, but he loves his fast food just like the rest of us.

The young football players who had the chance of a lifetime to visit the White House on Monday will surely never forget the day they ate burgers and fries with the president.
