Under President Donald Trump, a landmark Obama policy was overturned. Liberals proceeded to have a meltdown, calling it the end of the world. But now that some time has passed, we are seeing a shocking result of Trump’s move. It might come as a surprise to some.
Since taking office, Donald Trump has burned through Barack Obama’s accomplishments. One of the first things Trump did was slash government regulation. Obama loved regulation. He abused his power to hamper innovation and progress. Industries of all kinds suffered, thanks to his “stealth taxes.” Once Trump killed heavy regulation, our economy started to thrive.
Trump also defanged Obamacare once and for all. While Congress has been unable to repeal and replace the titanic failure, Trump has done much to erode the programs negative impact. Perhaps the biggest was the elimination of the “individual mandate” that punished Americans if they did not purchase health insurance.
But you might not know about one of Trump’s most important changes. Net Neutrality was a hallmark policy created by Obama’s FCC. The rules were meant to regulate the Internet. Obama and liberals claimed that greedy Internet Service Providers would prevent you from having full access to websites. They said the only way to stop companies from abusing customers was to pass strict rules. That’s right, more government regulation.
As always, the regulations did nothing to protect consumers. They only made it harder for smaller companies to compete. Net neutrality did nothing to stop big ISPs (like Time Warner Cable or Comcast) from overcharging customers or limiting their options. Meanwhile, real competition — that could spark innovation, change, and growth — was killed off.
Soon after Trump appointed a new head of the FCC, Ajit Pai, he killed Net Neutrality. Quickly liberals panicked. Like everything else the Trump administration did, Democrats predicted it would be the end of the world.
But since the repeal of Net Neutrality has gone into effect, something remarkable has happened. Something the left did not expect.
Since the repeal of “net neutrality” took effect on June 11, the U.S. internet speed has gone from 12th to 6th fastest in the world.
FCC chairman Ajit Pai announced late last year that he would be repealing the Obama-era internet regulations known as “net neutrality.” Following this announcement, the internet went into an absolute frenzy…
Even from the day of the announcement for the repeal, internet speeds have steadily been increasing.

This is likely due to the fact that the repeal of net neutrality rules have allowed the market to dictate itself. This, in turn, has spurred competition and innovation which ultimately creates a better product for consumers.

All that bellyaching. All that doom and gloom. And our Internet access is better today than it was before!
It’s almost as if, heavy government regulation and control is bad for America.
Liberals wanted us to believe that repealing Obama’s strict and abusive NN rules would mean the end of the Internet. Even though those rules did not exist before Obama entered office. The Internet was just fine before that, wasn’t it?
Net Neutrality hampered innovation. Now that the rules are gone, companies have fewer hoops to jump through. They don’t have to worry about restrictions, set by a corrupt government, that prevents them from expanding their businesses. That has resulted in a faster Internet for customers.
I guess all those liberals don’t want us with good Internet or better services. Figures. But if you’re enjoying high-speed Internet right now, you have one person to thank: Donald Trump.
