President Donald Trump made a surprise introduction midway through his Monday rally at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, inviting White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders onto the stage. Her very first words brought the packed house of Republican voters down.

In the lead-up to today’s midterm elections, President Donald Trump has been pounding the campaign trail, traveling all across the country to stump for vulnerable Republican candidates. On Monday, he stopped in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

As Trump spoke to the captive audience, he stopped and looked to the side of the stage, and he recognized perhaps the two most well-known women in his administration. “I have two other great women with me. You’ve never heard of them,” the president joked. “They’re very shy — Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.”

According to The Daily Caller, the crowd went wild as the two women took the stage. Trump hugged both of them and invited the two to speak. Sanders looked reluctant at first but took the podium and bent the mic downward.

She began with an apology. “You’ll have to forgive Kellyanne and I. We’re a little speechless because we’re not used to friendly crowds,” Sanders said to roars from the audience.

When Kellyanne took the mic, she said, “If you think your vote doesn’t count, if you think it doesn’t matter to have a small majority in the US Senate, you did not live through the Brett Kavanaugh hearings.”

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and White House counselor Kellyanne Conway joined President Trump on stage at a campaign rally in Indiana on Monday, praising their boss and urging voters to support Senate candidate Mike Braun (R).

The appearance by Sanders was unusual, as she is not a typical fixture at the president’s campaign rallies and past press secretaries have rarely participated in political events.

“Thank you Indiana. You’ll have to forgive Kellyanne and I, we’re maybe a little speechless. We’re not used to friendly crowds,” Sanders told the raucous, 13,000-person crowd at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Indeed, Sanders is not a regular fixture on the campaign trail — press secretaries rarely are. However, she has cemented herself as somewhat of a celebrity and conservative hero after relentlessly taking on the media day after day. She is a force to be reckoned with in the White House press room, so it only makes sense that the president would want her by his side on the campaign trail, especially in the days before such a pivotal election.

Of course, if Sanders were a Democrat, she would be considered a feminist icon. She’s a young mother with three little ones at home and one of the most high-powered jobs in Washington. Through hard work and determination, she has truly achieved it all. But, sadly, because she works for President Donald Trump, the political left has made her the target of incessant and indecent attacks. Apparently, you are only allowed respect as a woman if you stump for progressive causes.

The same can be said for Kellyanne Conway, who was also on hand in Fort Wayne on Monday. She is the first woman in history to manage a winning presidential campaign, yet the Democrats have never given her any credit for it. You simply cannot deny the alarming double-standard at play here — Sarah and Kellyanne are living, breathing proof of it.
