Hennepin County, Minnesota voted for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump by a margin of more than two to one (429,288 to 191,770.) Now, their liberal views are coming back to haunt them as a terrifying disease outbreak is creating a whole new set of disturbing statistics there.
According to The New York Times, Hillary Clinton won the state of Minnesota by more than two points overall. Barack Obama carried the liberal state by more than seven points. Hennepin County, which contains Minneapolis, is perhaps the most liberal and is certainly paying the price.
WND reports the following frightening news coming out of the Gopher State:
An outbreak of measles is sweeping through a community of Somali refugees in Minnesota and the growing number of cases may be starting to test the limits of the Hennepin County healthcare system.
According to reports from the health commissioner’s office, there are now 30 cases of children in Hennepin County who have been diagnosed with measles, and 28 of them are Somali children who have not been vaccinated. All of the cases involve children 5 years of age and younger.
There have been 10 new cases of measles reported in Hennepin County in just the last four days.
Sadly, the outbreak is spreading into Ramsey and Stearns counties, where two additional cases have been reported. All of these cases, with the exception of one, involve unvaccinated children. Reportedly, pediatric cancer treatments at Children’s Hospital Minneapolis were postponed on Thursday due to the presence of measles in the hospital.
It is also being reported that fears of autism have caused the Somali refugee population in Minnesota to shun the MMR vaccine that is responsible for keeping the deadly measles in check. Measles no longer occur naturally in the US, so this outbreak was most certainly imported by a traveler.
Khris Ehresmann, director of the infectious disease division at the Minnesota Health Department, explained, “Whenever you have an outbreak in unvaccinated kids, measles just has a field day, that is what is happening here.”
Health Commissioner Ed Ehlinger also shared his liberal-minded view in a statement, saying, “This outbreak is about unvaccinated children, not specific communities.” Ehlinger added, “Unfortunately, the Minnesota Somali community has been targeted with misinformation about vaccine risks. We’re partnering with Somali community leaders and health care providers to counteract that misinformation.”
Liberals love to blast President Donald Trump as a racist, a bigot, and an elitist for promoting an immigration ban and strict guidelines on the admission of refugees. Certainly, many of these left-wingers reside in the state of Minnesota, and now, they are living with the consequences of their views.
Liberals and conservatives alike want refugees to have the opportunity to improve their lives, but it has to be done in a smart way. By allowing the wrong-headed policies of Hillary Clinton-loving Democrats to run rampant, Hennepin County and other Minnesota Counties are paying a heavy price.
