Rep. Wilson: Prosecute People ‘Making Fun Of Members Of Congress,’ Regrets It

Rep. Frederica Wilson has asserted that people who mock Congress online should be prosecuted. “We’re gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted,” declared the flamboyant Floridian with force. She also blamed President Donald Trump for Americans losing respect for Congress. Well, immediately she was made to regret those remarks. You’ll love this.

Rep. Frederica Wilson is trying to play the propaganda game by highlighting this so-called Facebook group who members of Congress say have Border Patrol agents making fun of members of Congress. The group is private, however, it’s still censored by Facebook.

The claims come from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Many questions if this group is even legitimate. Regardless, it caused Rep. Wilson to lose her cool and then, lose her mind by claiming people’s freedom of speech would be prosecuted if they were caught making fun of Congress members.

“Those people who are online making fun of members of Congress are a disgrace, and there is no need for anyone to think that is unacceptable [sic],” Wilson said during comments made Tuesday outside of the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children in Homestead, Florida.

“We’re gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted,” she continued. “You cannot intimidate members of Congress, frighten members of Congress. It is against the law, and it’s a shame in this United States of America.”

“You cannot intimidate members of Congress — threaten members of Congress — it is against the law,” Wilson said emphatically.

Wilson then went on to blame President Trump for causing people to lose respect for Congress, the media, and the White House. We guess making fun of the president doesn’t count with Wilson’s new proposal concerning freedom of speech.

Wilson has long been a critic of the president, whom she has claimed is “crazy” and suffering from “a brain disorder,” reported the Washington Examiner. She waded into a public feud with the White House in October 2017, when she listened in on a phone call that Trump made to Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in the line of duty in Niger on Oct. 4, 2017. Wilson claimed that Trump told the Gold Star widow that her husband “knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt.”

Wilson also lamented that Trump has “taken this country to its knees,” noting how people have lost respect for Congress, the media, and the White House.

“This is something we are working on,” Wilson said in reference to the Facebook group. “Let’s be glad we found it and we’re going to correct it and we’re going to shut it down.”

Well, Americans were quick to let Rep. Wilson know she is the one being a tyrant and dictator as she advocates for rounding up Americans who are exercising their First Amendment rights.

“That ain’t how free speech works lady. This is America. We know you don’t like the constitution and the rights it protects for American citizens. But you do have to abide by and recognize them,” tweeted “Reinheim.”

“She’s gonna prosecute like a billion people? Maybe we should prosecute members of congress who make up stuff and lie,” tweeted Twitter user “Erich.”

“Frederica Wilson is a #fascist Would this mean anyone who criticizes the President should also be prosecuted? She probably only means it when there’s a liberal in office. #1A #Florida deserves better,” tweeted “Joe Momma 2.0.”

Customs and Border Protection launched an investigation into the private Facebook group, ProPublica reported Tuesday. They will get down to the bottom of the issue. If they are “bad apples,” we will know soon enough.

However, most Americans know Border Patrol agents and our law enforcement officers across the country are great people who do a thankless job. Making matter worse are those like AOC and Frederica Wilson who are quick to condemn the entire force of agents. Rep. Wilson has done us all a favor for highlighting just how ridiculous these far-leftists are and how they would take away our constitutional rights in a hot second if they could.
