On Thursday, Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper appeared on cable news and was asked why he sent three separate requests to “unmask” Lt. General Michael Flynn. Clapper claimed he did not remember why he did that back in 2016-17. Well, that’s pretty ironic since Clapper was the man in charge of all intelligence gathering in the United States, and that’s why he immediately got utterly torched. You’ll love this.
James Clapper is in deep trouble, along with a slew of Obama-era officials who requested the unmasking of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. At the time of the unmasking, Flynn had accepted the NSA post from incoming President Donald Trump.
CNN “New Day” host John Berman asked Clapper why he made three specific requests to unmask the name of an individual on December 2, December 28, and January 7.
Clapper said he does not remember why he made those three specific requests, nor does he remember what prompted the request that was made on his behalf.
“No, I don’t,” Clapper told Berman. “I don’t recall what prompted a request that was made on my behalf for unmasking. I don’t remember the specifics or what it was in the second report that was suggestive enough that I was concerned and felt that I should know who was actually involved.”
“There was general concern about the number of engagements with Russians that we were seeing happening,” Clapper said. “We may not necessarily have known what the content of these engagements were, but there were numerous engagements by representatives of the Trump camp with Russians. So, that was of … general concern anyway. So that, I think, is what attracted the attention of me and other then-serving national security officials.”
Oh, please. This is Clapper’s weak attempt to use the old talking points about Trump colluding with Russians. The only people who were colluding with Russians were the Democrats who paid for the salacious “pee” dossier.
Then, as Clapper is asked if he leaked to the press, which would be the crime, not the unmasking, his video feed goes dead.
“Watch: Clapper just conceded on CNN that ‘No, I did not’ find evidence of Trump-Russia collusion. Then, after being asked about leaking to the press, his video connection went dead…” tweeted TV News HQ.

That’s why Americans torched James Clapper on social media.
“The spies who run these surveillance programs then lied to us about their extent. One of the most notorious of these liars is James Clapper. When cross-examined by Senator Wyden under oath James Clapper denied that the gov’t was collecting personal data on millions of Americans,” tweeted Senator Rand Paul.

“For two years, @CNN eagerly offered itself as a platform for Adam Schiff and James Clapper to claim there was ‘significant evidence’ of Russian collusion. Now we know multiple former Obama administration officials said under oath they saw no evidence of it… including Clapper,” tweeted Media Research Center.

Clapper reiterated that he never saw direct evidence of collusion between Trump, Flynn, or any other Trump officials, but he did reveal there could have been a threat to national security, which would be a reason to unmask.
“There could have been, as I say, other reasons why you would unmask,” Clapper stated. “Again, when you read the report, it may not tell you what exactly is going on, so whether it was collusion or what, what you’re trying to determine [is] does this pose a threat to national security?”
Now, we must push the GOP to be as aggressive in getting these deep state rats under oath as the Democrats were when they went after the president. They are running scared now, and the truth will set this country free.
